Chapter 164 A Protagonist Detected
In an expansive green field behind an opulent villa, a young man hovered in the air, adorned with two golden wings on his back, his countenance focused. Lifting his hand, he summoned forth several golden circular portals.
"Attack!" he ordered.
In an instant, the golden portals erupted, giving birth to thousands of materialized swords that rained down upon the ground in an unrelenting cascade. The brilliance of the golden blades illuminated the dark night, crafting a mesmerizing yet perilous spectacle.
The young man, Zhou Jun, observed this calmly. He was quite satisfied with the progress of his martial spirit, Gilgamesh. He could now open five gates of Babylon, unleashing a rain of golden swords, an improvement from the previous three gates.
With a firm grip on the air, he dispelled the circles of light, bringing the golden sword rain to a halt. Descending to the ground, he was met with a round of applause.
Turning around, a smile graced his face as he spotted a middle-aged man in his forties, his father, Zhou Jian.
"Truly remarkable. I still can't believe you've been hiding your second martial spirit. But it's undoubtedly a good thing; the more secretive your power, the better," Zhou Jian praised.
"Thanks, Dad," Zhou Jun responded, a smile gracing his face.
Zhou Jian smiled back. It had been several days since his son surprised him by revealing he had two martial spirits.
"Alright, it's getting late. Don't you want to rest?" he asked.
"I think later. I will..." Zhou Jun's voice trailed off as a hologram suddenly appeared in front of him.
[A protagonist detected: Chu Feng]
Seeing this, he was stunned. His eyes were fixed on the name Chu Feng in the hologram.
Finally, after his transmigration, a protagonist appeared! A grin unconsciously spread across his face.
However, Zhou Jian noticed the peculiarity in his son's expression. "You good?" he inquired.
Zhou Jun snapped back to reality as the hologram vanished. "Oh, I'm good, Dad. I just suddenly felt very excited. Don't worry about me; I'll practice a bit more here," he responded, a smile gracing his face.
Zhou Jian nodded. "Alright, rest if you're tired. Training too hard isn't good for your health," he advised.
"Okay, Dad," Zhou Jun responded with a nod.

"System, give me information about Chu Feng!" he exclaimed with enthusiasm.
[Chu Feng: a protagonist who has returned from the future. The system has no other information; you must meet him. However, he is currently in Shanghai.]
Hearing this, Zhou Jun was taken aback. A protagonist who returned from the future... His mind immediately jumped to the powerful emperor types who died and returned to the past.
But according to his future memories, this world wasn't ruled by a single emperor. However, there were indeed powerful individuals known as Heavenly Venerables.
In the end, he shook his head, dispelling these speculative thoughts. His gaze transformed into a cold, resolute stare. "Whoever you may be, Chu Feng, your second chance won't be a pleasurable one," he declared, a sinister grin spreading across his face.
------------
The moon displayed its crescent phase in the cold atmosphere. It was now 3 AM, with the sun yet to rise.
In a bed within an apartment, Long Tian slowly opened his eyes, immediately greeted by the warmth of Zhang Mei's body still asleep on top of him.
He gently moved her to the side, causing her to wake up. "That was really enjoyable," she remarked, a smile gracing her face.
Sitting up, Long Tian held his head, experiencing a slight dizziness. "I believe we made a mistake," he admitted, his gaze meeting Zhang Mei's.
Zhang Mei joined him in sitting. "Yeah, I share the same sentiment. I feel guilty about my boyfriend," she confessed.
"Wait, what? You have a boyfriend?" Long Tian inquired, his eyebrows arching in surprise.
"Yes, he used to be my colleague. A good guy, really. We never engaged in intercourse because he preferred to wait until marriage... I feel bad for him," Zhang Mei explained.
"Sigh, now I feel guilty for him too. But truth be told, this feeling is really great," Long Tian admitted, a grin playing on his lips.
"Then, would you like to repeat it?" Zhang Mei suggested, her smile growing more tempting.
Long Tian shook his head. "I think that's enough, Zhang Mei. The sun is on the verge of rising, and I need to return to Tianzhou," he said.
Zhang Mei nodded, yet her smile persisted. "I genuinely wish we could go back to how things were, Long Tian. If you want, I could end things with my boyfriend for you right now," she suggested.
"I think that's unlikely for us, Zhang Mei. I hope you lead a fulfilling life without me. Naturally, I wish for your happiness too," Long Tian replied, his voice tender.
Zhang Mei sighed, "Well, I can't force my desires," she conceded.
Long Tian smiled but refrained from further words as he stood, dressing in his clothes.
It was the same as before, black trousers paired with a black shirt. Zhang Mei also readied herself.
However, just before Long Tian departed, she unexpectedly embraced him from behind.
"If you ever need me, just come back here," she whispered.
Long Tian was about to speak, however, the door abruptly swung open.
They both were taken aback, shifting their focus to the door. A young man with black hair, standing at 189cm, reasonably good-looking, and casually dressed entered. However, his expression betrayed a sense of displeasure.
"What the hell. Who's this guy?" he asked, his forehead creased with annoyance as he glared at Long Tian.
Long Tian maintained a serious demeanor, while Zhang Mei sighed with relief.
"Calm down, he's my friend. And why are you here?" she inquired, her tone composed as she crossed her arms.
Upon hearing this, the young man caught on. He sighed, shook his head, and spoke, "At least lock the door; you left it unlocked. I came here to return the car I borrowed." With that, he tossed the car keys onto the bed.
Zhang Mei nodded, "Okay, you can leave now. And for next time, knock before entering," she advised.
The young man didn't utter a word and promptly exited the room.
Long Tian, meanwhile, remained puzzled by the situation. He looked at Zhang Mei and questioned, "Who is he?" his tone tinged with curiosity.
"Don't worry, he's my little brother, Zhang Jun, same age as you," Zhang Mei reassured.
Long Tian nodded, "I thought he was your boyfriend. Well, I suppose I'll take my leave now," he said.
"Take care on your way," Zhang Mei said.
Long Tian responded with a nod and then exited the room.

As he stepped out of the building, he leisurely strolled through the tranquil and chilly streets of Shanghai, where no cars passed by.
However, a frown creased his forehead as he detected a distinctive aura. He turned around to encounter a familiar face—Zhang Jun.
"Hey, come on, buddy. I'm not hurting your sister; we're just friends. So, no need to tail me," he said, his tone calm.
Zhang Jun closed the distance, glaring at Long Tian, arms crossed. "I'm not here for chit-chat. Keep away from my sister," he growled, his tone commanding.
"Don't flatter yourself; I'm not planning to dive into a romance with your sister," Long Tian shot back.
"I have always believed in my code, where someone won't get tired of just words," Zhang Jun declared, his aura oozing menace.
Long Tian's gaze turned icy. "So what are you planning to do?" he taunted.
"Do I still need to spell it out?" Zhang Jun retorted, fists clenched with ominous intent.
But suddenly, a sharp command sliced through the tension, "Enough, both of you!" halting Zhang Jun's aggression.
Long Tian and Zhang Jun redirected their attention to the source—Zhang Mei was striding towards them.
"I suspected this. Zhang Jun, why the hell are you still so damn impulsive?" she scolded.
"I just don't like him," Zhang Jun responded, his arms tightly crossed.
Before Zhang Mei could retort, Long Tian chimed in, "Then step up and prove your strength. I'm suddenly itching for a brutal showdown," he said, a malicious grin etched on his face.
Zhang Jun's gaze ignited with fury. However, Zhang Mei promptly intervened, "Zhang Jun, take one more step, and I'll unleash my anger on you!" she scolded. Then, her eyes locked onto Long Tian, "And Long Tian, get the hell out, and excuse my idiotic brother for his impulsive crap," she declared.
Two wings of darkness unfurled on Long Tian's back. "By the way, your sister's body is so hot. I savored every damn moment," he sneered with a malicious grin.
"You!" Zhang Jun erupted in unbridled anger.
However, Long Tian had vanished, soaring away and disappearing into the sky.
Slap!
Yet, his fury was met with a slap from Zhang Mei, her expression radiating pure displeasure.
"You've seriously crossed the line this time. If you keep up with this impulsive crap, you'll never fill Dad's damn shoes!" she proclaimed.
Zhang Jun remained silent but conveyed his rage by clenching his fists, suppressing his seething anger.
Without uttering another word, he departed, leaving Zhang Mei behind.
