Chapter 173
The first call was from an employee of a real estate agency. He knew that she had listed her previous
house with the agency for rent, and also about how those shameless people from the Hardy family had
rented her house to someone else. He claimed to be her boyfriend and
expressed his concern because she had yet to return home late at night.
The agency immediately informed him to look for her at the house, il she wasn’t there, the people who
rented out her house must be
involved.
The people from the Hardy family had all returned to their hometown, which was only a little over three
hours away by car, but she wouldn’t travel there for such a trivial matter. He immediately drove to her
former residence but unexpectedly found a police car downstairs.
His heart tightened, and he quickly rushed into the elevators as fast as he could. As soon as the

A man in a police uniform shouted sharply, “Go to a different floor!”
He saw a drunk man waving a kitchen knife behind the police officer and shouting loudly. “Don’t come
over!
Several police officers with empty hands were cautious and refrained from approaching the drunk man
with the knife. He didn’t see
Larissa among the crowd, but that didn’t mean she was safe,
He asked the police officer, “Have you seen Miss Seymour?
The police officer was confused. “Miss Seymour? Who’s that?”
The drunk man, however, had a strong reaction to his words. “That female scammer! kill her! Let’s see
if she dares trick me again!”
He ignored the police officer’s advice and rushed forward to kick the drunk man to the ground, picking
up the knife and pressing it against his neck. His eyes were bloodthirsty, and he might’ve driven the
knife into the man if it weren’t for the police.
The police handcuffed the drunk man and knocked on the closed door across the hall-apparently, the
couple who lived there had called the police. In their bedroom, he found Larissa unconscious and
unresponsive. The couple told the police about what the man had done. and he listened attentively
while carrying Larissa out. Her face was as pale as a sheet and regardless of the noisy surroundings,
she showed no signs of waking up. He vowed in his heart to make the man’s family pay it anything
were to happen to her.
Fortunately, she did not suffer any serious injuries other than a recurring injury on her right shoulder.
But his anger soared when he saw the scars on her body as the nurse undressed her.
He entrusted her to the care of a reliable nurse and went to the police station where the drunk man was
being held. After obtaining the details of what happened, he pulled some strings to get some time alone

on the ground in pain and groaning.
He stomped on his face with his foot and said, “Tell your wife to move out immediately, and I will
compensate her. As for you-you’ll spend the rest of your life in jail,*
The drunk man’s filthy blood splattered on him, so he returned home to take a shower and change his
clothes. Then, he went back to the hospital,
Upon arrival, the nurse informed him. “Miss Seymour woke up, but she fell asleep again.”
But it seemed she couldn’t fall asleep. He didn’t want to talk to her much, nor would he allow her to turn
on the light because she would
definitely see how fearful he was. He had never experienced fear to such an extent, even during the
time he’d narrowly escaped death.
Kevan raised his hand and caressed Larissa’s Lace lightly, savoring the soll and smooth touch of her
skin lor a long time. It was good that she was alive and well, and that he could see and feel her. He
bent over and planted a kiss on her forehead before walking out of the room Then, he dialed a number
and said. “I need your help.”
