393 Grand entrance
Twenty days could be a very long time, or it could pass by in a blink of an eye.
Everything was relative.
For Elliot and Jessica, the twenty days passed by as fast as fast could be.
They were completely immersed in their studies and research, so much so that they rarely stopped to sleep, or even rest! The twenty days were completely spent in an all out, full strength study session that would put the universe's most industrious ant to shame.
The aura surrounding Elliot changed again and again and again. It went from vivacious, to fiery hot, to cold, to electrifying and so on. And through it all, the sense of strangeness and separation that the rest felt with him continued to grow unceasingly.
It was as though Elliot's aura was turning into a completely different life form, bit by bit, right in front of them!
"The Deep Ascendant Rune sure is a strange thing." Monkey King couldn't help but comment sometime on the third day when Elliot's aura was shifting between fiery hot to freezing cold.
"Indeed." Jul'Taras replied softly as she tried to study and understand the key to the Deep Ascendant Rune in front of her.
"It's highly complex, and deals a lot with runes that influence the soul. It clearly meant that the Runes would be more effective for Ancient level beings and above. But for them both to be able to use them at their King level power... I don't understand how they did it and what exactly is happening." Jul'Taras sighed and glanced at Elise Sands who was sitting down peacefully next to them.
She was immersed in studying the normal Ascendant Runes after trying to study the Key to the Deep Ascendant Rune seriously for a day and failing miserably.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtBut although she was completely immersed in studying, she sensed Jul'Taras' glance, and even bothered to reply.
"It is true that it should be more effective for Ancient level beings and above who would be able to fully utilize the soul-based attacks. But the Deep Ascendant Rune is much, much more complex than that." She sighed as she opened her eyes.
"The Key to the Deep Ascendant Rune is not even the rune. It is merely the underlying principle which could be used to modify the underlying principle of the current Ascendant Rune. It is like the doubling of the alphabet, and the creation of billions of new words, and the creation of a whole new grammar framework to regulate those new words.
Those new words and grammar rules would then be applied to the Ascendant Runes to enhance the effect that they were trying to achieve.
Modifying and enhancing those Ascendant Runes into Deep Ascendant Runes is like taking a full million-word and editing everything upgrade the message that the was trying to convey using the added words and new grammar!
It's ridiculously difficult." Elise Sands said with half frustration and half envy.
"I feel like a little girl in kindergarten being sent to a senior class learning advanced programming for our quantum processors." Jul'Taras admitted.
"You're not wrong in feeling that way." Elise Sands. "At this stage, my advice would be to bite off whatever you can safely and completely chew, one chunk at a time. Better fully upgrade what you can control rather than struggle to upgrade powers you cannot control." Elise Sands advised them sagely.
"Understood." The two of them said, and resumed their studies.
And that way, the three of them spent the next twenty days relatively quickly.
However, for the rest of the Realm as well as the Shadow Realm, the twenty days that passed was torturously slow!
Chaos had erupted in every single corner of the Shadow Realm as Wild Energy Blytoros continued its mad devour of every single thing around it.
And after every successful devour, it would take whatever it ate, and add it to itself.
Within one day, it was Millionsoul Blytoros.
Within two days, it was Billionsoul Blytoros.
Within three days, it was Trillionsoul Blytoros.
Planet after planet, warrior after warrior, Primal after Primal and Saint after Saint fell to its incredible power.
An unprecedented crisis had befallen the Shadow Realm, a power much stronger than one of the Gods, Blytoros had appeared!!
However, Blytoros was a Lesser God within the Shadow Realm.
The two Elder Gods, though they know of the weird "change" in Blytoros, were so much more powerful than him that they didn't really pay him much attention.
Instead, they reacted to the insane damage that the thousands of Elliot-Elise clones did with a deep fury that was completely unexpected!
They probably lost several precious treasures or followers in the massive nuclear fallouts spread out all across the most critical areas of their Star Systems.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAnd as such, even though they lost a good chunk of their army, they sent the remaining into the main realm anyway, and triggered a massive inter-realm war!!
The whole known universe was immediately plunged into a defensive war.
The few days which they had to prepare in advance was barely enough. But still, at least they weren't caught with their pants down.
When the billions of Shadow Realm fleets crossed their portals and into the known universe, they found Primals standing ahead of whatever army they could cobble together at short notice.
It was barely enough, but at the very least it wasn't the unguarded entry that the Shadow Realm fleet commanders were hoping for.
The flames of war spread out relentlessly throughout both Realms as top Shadow Primals fought with the Primals of the known universe.
The Shadow Realm activated every single Shadow Parasite infested warrior under them, and turned them against their respective powers with devastating effect!
The Shadow Parasite Disaster which was considered as good as over, finally showed its deadly fangs!
Tragedies of the gravest magnitude started occurring as Ancients fought and died, and Hegemons turned to ash as though they never existed. In some cases, even Primals were being pushed to the brink of death.
The warriors of the known universe were mostly a notch weaker than the Shadow Realm, and the results showed.
And all the while, our MC was seated peacefully upon a comfortable cushion near his home planet, doing what he did best.
Powering up before his grand entrance.
