Chapter 314

The students watching didn't dare to intervene; they were just there for the show. Most of them pulled out their

phones to record. Abel had never been present during previous incidents, but now he stood right in front of

Bonnie.

The scene was quite tic. Just a few days earlier, Bonnie was relentlessly harassing Abel, portraying herself

as a victim and painting Abel as the villain. Now, the tables have turned. Abel watched Bonnie with eyes full of

reluctance and guilt.

Perhaps it was that unusual look that made Yasmine suddenly feel this wasn't as straightforward as it seemed.

The woman's eyes were filled with despair and reluctance, completely unlike her previously aggressive

demeanor. The longing for money was gone from those eyes; she seemed to have cto terms with her fate.

Abel's mother said, "Abel, she has wronged you and the Liang family. We absolutely cannot forgive such a

woman. Your father and | watched the interview; she took your house, and our lifetsavings are all tied up in

it. We need to get it all back and make her compensate."

The woman was silent like a still pond, while the child cried out in heart-wrenching agony.

"No, it's okay. Mom, Dad, let her go." Abel suddenly spread his arms wide, stepping protectively in front of

Bonnie.

Srelatives from Abel's family were likely with them. "Abel, we're doing this for your reputation! If word gets

out, we'll be a laughingstock, and that house is yours, anyway. Are you really thinking of leaving it to that woman

and her kid?"

Abel shook his head, saying, "Mom, Dad, no matter what you say, this is my decision. I've already divorced

Bonnie, and giving up those things was my choice."

"You've got no sense! Don't you know what that woman did? Her kid isn't even yours! It could be srandom

guys, for all we know. The child was born before you two divorced! How could it not be an affair?" Abel's mom

berated him, practically itching to slap ssense into him.

"I know, | know. I'm aware the child's not mine," Abel said firmly. Despite his parents' pleas, he stood resolutely

in front of Bonnie, refusing to budge.

Abel's relatives were getting impatient. He immediately pointed at two others, saying, "Get him out of the way."

As they moved to pull him aside, Abel continued, "I wronged her first. This is my burden to bear, not hers."

Abel lowered his gaze, feeling an overwhelming wave of sadness. Yasmine was suddenly lost, unable to

comprehend the situation.

"What nonsense are you talking about? Your parents are right there watching. How can you be so heartless as to

make them feel this way?" a relative snapped.

Bonnie, who hadn't said a word from start to finish, suddenly burst into laughter. "Haha..." She glared at Abel and

shouted angrily, "Stop with the fake concern. You're the one hoping for my downfall. Move. Don't stand in front of

me. Get out of my way."

Abel wore a wounded expression on his face; he didn't want to hear those hurtful words, yet they pricked his

heart like a porcupine. "Bonnie, it's my fault, all of it is," Abel murmured. He walked over to Bonnie, pointing

towards the door, and said, "Just go, leave now." Abel's mom pointed accusingly at Bonnie and yelled, "Look at

this damn vixen! Who knows what spell she's cast on my son? And he's still defending her, even now."

His dad grew impatient and urged, "Why are you all just standing there? Hurry up and pull him away."

Srelatives tried to pull Abel aside to take Bonnie away. But the usually gentle Abel erupted with unexpected

strength, pushing two of them to the ground as he returned to stand in front of Bonnie again.

Yasmine noticed that Abel's eyes were red, as if he was about toy. Meanwhile, Bonnie glared at Abel with pure

hatred, and once again, she screamed hysterically, "Get out, Abel! Get out of my life forever! Go away forever!"

Her voice seemed to be a desperate shout from her very being, and the intense anger filled Yasmine with

despair.

"I'm sorry, Bonnie," Abel said quietly as he slowly turned away, casting a deep, lingering glance at Bonnie, as if it

was the last look he would give to the one he loved.

Yasmine watched this strange scene unfold, puzzled. 'Abel should have been the angry one, so why does he look

guilty instead? What has really happened between them?'

While she speculated calmly, a few people in the crowd erupted again. "I'm the one who wronged Bonnie; I'm the

one at fault," Abel cried, tears streaming down his face. "Bonnie didn't cheat, she did nothing to betray me; | was

the one who failed her, and I'm the one who is sorry," Abel shouted.

"Shut up," Bonnie snarled, her eyes burning with hate as she glared at Abel.

Everyone in the room was stunned, their eyes on Abel. His parents, sensing something was off, quickly tried to

intervene. "Abel, just shut your mouth. You two are married; you're her rightful husband."

"No," Abel shouted, his voice filled with anger. After a brief cough, he went on, "Three years ago, | fell for Bonnie

the moment | saw her. | knew she was with Blake and had been for a long time, but I just couldn't accept it

wasn't me. So, that day, | drank. It's my fault, | failed Bonnie. | destroyed her happiness and created a false one

for myself. Even after we got married, I've been honest, but I've never been able to sleep peacefully."

"Enough!" Bonnie screamed, her voice cracking. Abel was too intimidated to continue.

Abel's parents looked around in shock, suddenly remembering they were at school. It dawned on them that

almost everyone had witnessed what happened.

Yasmine listened to everything Abel said without missing a word, realizing this was how it all unfolded. She

suddenly felt at a loss about who was right or wrong, understanding why Abel had willingly played the fool. She

finally grasped why he stayed silent and never defended himself-it was because he was the one in the wrong.

But Abel's parents brushed off his words, arguing, "Whose kids don't consult a matchmaker when discussing

marriage? When we proposed, both families were on good terms. You can't blAbel alone. Why didn't

Bonnie's family refuse us then?"

Everyone turned their eyes to Bonnie again. Holding her child with one arm, she gave Abel a hard shove and said

expressionlessly, "We did want to refuse, but what did you say?" Bonnie demanded.
