Chapter 294
The third day after leaving the Sanchez residence? That was quite a while back. Yasmine couldn't understand
how Yoselin managed, but the vivid red marks on her arms said it all. Yasmine frowned, eyeing the scars on
Yoselin's arms. "What were you thinking? Doesn't it hurt?"
Yoselin shook her head. "My mind was a mess back then. | can't even recall how it happened. It felt like a
nightmare, and when I finally cto, my arms were covered in cuts." "What kind of nightmare?" Yasmine asked
with concern.
"I had a nightmare where someone was chasing me, saying they wanted to drink my blood and eat my flesh. |
was terrified," Yoselin said, her voice trembling.
Yasmine understood that Yoselin's downplayed recount of the nightmare was a facade for the fear that caused
her to wake up in tears, perhaps even sobbing uncontrollably. As she spoke, Yoselin's shoulders trembled
uncontrollably. "Yoselin, stop," Yasmine interrupted quickly.
"Yasmine, can you help me?" she cried, throwing herself into Yasmine's arms.
"I will," Yasmine assured her, gently patting her shoulder and smoothing her forehead.
Having left the Russell residence under the pretense of treatment, Yoselin had to quickly reach her psychologist.
As she got into the car, she gave Yasmine a longing look. "Yasmine, I'll be back soon to see you again."
Yonas was concentrating on the stock charts on his computer, his expression serious. The Russell Group's stocks
had been volatile lately but were now showing signs of settling. Just then, his assistant knocked hesitantly on the
door. "Mr. Russell," she said, "Ms. White would like to invite you to dinner tonight."
Yonas glanced at the fluctuating stock prices of the White Group, his brow slightly furrowed, but he gave a nod.
The assistant quickly relayed a message over the phone, and then turned to Yonas. "Mr. Russell," she relayed,
"Ms. White said she'll pick you up after work." Yonas leaned back comfortably in his chair. His coffee was half-

Irene had been sidestepping the engagement talk, but they couldn't avoid it forever. Sooner or later, one of them
was bound to crack under the pressure. He'd also heard about the incident involving Yasmine a few days ago. It
created quite a ruckus, and he ensured the police department was well-informed.
He rubbed his forehead, acing business challenges but utterly baffled by Yasmine. He turned over the photo on
his desk to see her smiling face, perhaps his sole source of strength.
"Mr. Russell, the board meeting starts in half an hour," the assistant mentioned.
Yonas nodded, "I understand.”

Outside the Russell Group building, a casually dressed woman stepped inside. Before she could reach the
elevator, the receptionist stopped her, "Miss, who are you here to see? Do you have an appointment?" Yasmine
paused for a moment, "I'm here to see Yonas, but | don't have an appointment."
The receptionist led her to the lounge, "Without an appointment, you can't see Mr. Russell. Plus, he's in a
meeting right
now," she explained. It was a board meeting too, and she dared not interrupt it even for something urgent.
Looking at the woman, she felt nothing good would cfrom her wanting to see Mr. Russell.

The receptionist paused and then said, "Miss, can | ask what you need from Mr. Russell? Please don't get me
wrong, but if it's not too private, | could convey your message to him later." The woman shook her head, "It's
personal.”
Noticing her icy tone, the receptionist's gaze hardened slightly. "Miss, maybe you should head back. Mr. Russell is
busy right
now."
The woman lifted her head, meeting the receptionist's disapproving stare, and dialed a number on her phone.
The receptionist barely furrowed her brow, wondering, 'Who is she calling?" "Hello, I'm downstairs at the Russell
Group building. | need to talk to you." The woman's tone was not exactly friendly. The receptionist mused over
who she could be speaking to so bluntly
Shortly, something unexpected happened. The executive elevator descended rapidly, and when the doors
opened, Yonas stepped out, walking briskly toward the woman with a smile in his voice, "Yasmine, what brings
you here?" Yasmine didn't respond to him and said, "Let's go to your office. | need to talk to you."
Inside the office, Yasmine gave Yonas a disapproving look. "Mr. Russell, while I'm not exactly sure what you're
thinking, | do know you care about Yoselin. Since you care so much for her, you should realize my treatment is
the best option for her."
She didn't understand why Yonas suddenly decided to stop her from treating Yoselin, but it probably had to do
with shidden memories in Yoselin's heart.
Yonas looked at her, clearly troubled. "Yasmine, it's not just my call, it's Grandpa's too. I'm sorry."
Yasmine stared at him in disbelief. "So, you're going to take her away because of your grandfather's opinion,
even though you know I'm the best to treat her? Just because of Nathan?" she asked. Then she thought, 'No, that

"Yasmine, Grandpa is really worried about Yoselin. He's had countless psychologists cin to try and help her,"
he said.
Yonas was cut off before he could finish. "Did it do any good?" Yasmine interrupted.
Yonas was at a loss for words. He knew deep down that no matter how many psychologists they brought in, they
might not be able to help Yoselin. He felt his sister's pain but feared Yasmine might push him away completely.
"Out of all the psychologists, how many are women?" Yasmine pressed.
Yonas shook his head. "None."
"Yonas, even if you're clueless, you should know by now that Yoselin's outbursts are due to the kidnapping. She
freezes up at the sight of men. Didn't you notice?" Yasmine demanded. Yonas's fingertips quivered. "I..."

"Of course, you wouldn't know," Yasmine said, "because you're not the one falling apart. You and your
grandfather think the best doctors and treatment will fix everything for Yoselin, but you've never stopped to
think about what she really needs or what actually scares her."
Yonas tightened his grip, his mind racing to think of ways to hide things from Yasmine-something he'd never
even considered before. He went silent, a shadow falling over his eyes.
Yasmine's voice was unrelenting, growing colder, "You didn't even realize she was harming herself, did you?" she
pointed out.
A chill ran down Yonas's spine. Yasmine's words were both faint and stark in his ears. Self-harming? "What's
going on with Yoselin?" he asked, worry evident in his voice.
