boxes to them. "This is a little something that I prepared for you."

"Thank you," Nolan and Lana said, taking the gifts in a disciplined manner.

"You're welcome. I'm your godfather, after all. You guys have loved clinging to me since you were little." Lawrence

smiled and looked at Nolan. "Especially Nolan. I remember you saying you wanted to be like a hero like me when

you grow up."

Nolan remembered his words and added, "Yes, I want to get strong to protect my mother."

Nolan's confident look while nodding his head had everyone touched by his behavior.

Only Lawrence, Nicole and Jared had different emotions about this. They knew Lawrence said this purposefully, but

thankfully, Nolan's explanation had perfectly made things not so awkward.

safe in the future," Lawrence said, chuckling. He then looked at Jared and added, "Congratulations."

"Thank you, Godpa. We'll live happily with Mommy and Daddy!" Lana smiled sweetly and tightened her arms around

Jared's neck affectionately.

"Since you're here for dinner, please have a seat," Maximillian said calmly, with a hint of coldness.

Everyone present today was no ordinary person. They were all either in the political or business industry. After

being in this environment for so long, no one was simple-minded. Maximillian could tell Lawrence's motives, and so

could others.

Lawrence seemingly came to congratulate, but he was actually after Nicole and wanted to be the father of the kids.
