As soon as the door closed behind Liam, Samara's expression immediately changed. She pretended to be mad and defended Celena.
She looked at everyone with displeasure and said, "All of you better knock it off. Celena's my best friend. You're not allowed to talk about her husband like that. You're not allowed to laugh at Celena too!"
Upon saying that, Samara held Celena's hand and gave her a look of reassurance.
Everyone kept their mouth shut once Samara said. Then, they started to talk to each other again. The atmosphere in the room was back to being as lively as before.
Celena was touched as she looked at Samara. She got so emotional that she cupped Samara's hand that was placed on her elbow. With tears rolling in her eyes, she said, "Samara, thank you. Thank you for protecting me. I'm thankful that you're still willing to treatas your good friend. I should apologize to you for what happened in the past."
