The room had pieces of glass almost everywhere, large ones and little bits, and most of them were on the bed.
Emma was still finding it hard to comprehend how something like this could have happened, she was staring at the bed with a baffled expression on her face
"What were you thinking, aiming for the window?" Emma asked as Dave stood at the entrance holding a broom.
"It was a mistake," Dave said, walking closer to her.
"Mistake? When did the window turn into your goalpost? I thought it was down there on the lawn." She said pointing at the spot where the window used to be.
"I didn't aim for the window, I was training with the ball blaster and decided to clear an easy ball with my foot but that went terribly wrong and that's how that happened."
"Just give me the broom." She said with an annoyed voice before stretching his hand toward him.
"Okay," Dave said, handing her the broom.
She took the broom from him and began to gather the glasses together with it.
"Let me get the ones on the bed," Dave said heading toward the bed.
"No," Emma said to stop him before he could get there.
"Huh?"
"I can handle this myself and besides don't you think you should be calling some people right now?" She said,
"Some people." He muttered before the idea clicked in his mind. "Oh, yeah, the window installment people." He said bringing out his phone from his pocket.
"You should go do that downstairs."
"Is there anything wrong if I do it here?"
"Not exactly but please go downstairs."
She sounded calm but Dave could sense that little hint of annoyance in her voice.
"Okay." He said before he slowly made his way to the door.

'I know but I forgot.'
<We both know that is a silly excuse>
Dave didn't reply as he slowly walked to the couch and crashed down on it before raising his phone to his view.
Emma was already done with cleaning up everything by the time Dave returned to the room, the room now looked like nothing ever happened there but the window was still there as a proof that something did happen.
"Have you called them?" She asked as soon as she spotted Dave at the entrance.
"Yeah, but they're not coming?" He said, folding his lips with an awkward expression on his face.
"What? Why?"
"Umm...the installment team is off duty at the moment but they will be returning tomorrow." He said walking closer to her.
"Are they the only ones you know?"
"No, but they are the only ones who will come by this time, the other ones I know are miles away in Supreme." He said.
"So what are we going to do now?" She said with a worried expression on her face. "We can't sleep in a room without a window."
Dave didn't say anything as he slowly walked to the area and closed the opening with the large curtains.
"Curtains will do the trick." He said.
"Curtains can't protect you from the cold, bats, and thieves," Emma said, sitting down on the bed.
"Thieves," Dave muttered. "We can sleep in the guest room."
Emma let out a sigh before making her way to the door.
"Just make sure to lock the door after coming out." She said before walking away.
'There's no way anyone would notice and try to break into the house through here right?'
<It's possible depending on how they're monitoring your house, the place was robbed last week remember, so don't rule out the possibility>
The goalkeeper pulled the curtains to make sure there was no way anyone would see anything and after that, he made his way to the switch and turned it off before leaving the room and locking it from outside.
'I hope nothing bad happens but just to be safe.'
He made his way to the room where he had dropped some of his gym equipment upstairs and brought out a few of the heavy ones which he used to block the door.
"That should do it." He said looking at the pile of equipment in front of the door.
Before dropping the equipment in front of the door, he made sure to bring out all the things that he was going to be needing tonight and important things that needed to be kept safe and transferred them to the guest room, he also brought out things he knew Emma was going to be needing for the night.
He went and took his bath like he was supposed to before making his way downstairs to eat dinner with Emma.
Only a few words were exchanged between the two during their meal and after that, it was now time to go to bed.
"Wow, you seriously blocked the door with all those things, I haven't even changed yet," Emma said as soon as she saw all the things he had used to block the door.
"That's a safety precaution and for changing, let's just get to the room first," Dave said, pulling her along with him.
The guest room was a little large compared to his room and it had two large beds which could accommodate two people each.
Looking at the bed on the right, Emma could see her pink pajamas lying there.
"You just assumed that that was what I wanted to wear tonight." She said, picking up the pajamas.
"That's your favorite pajamas, what did you expect me to bring, your exotic gown?"
"Very funny babe," She said before she began to unbutton her shirt.
It didn't take her long to finish unbuttoning the shirt and pulled it off to reveal the white singlet she was putting on.
"Get changed, I'll be over here," Dave said before he walked to the bed on the left and jumped down on it.
He lay on his back before bringing up his phone to check something but his eyes kept trailing off toward Emma who was still getting changed.
"What?" She asked after putting on the pajama trousers.
"Nothing," Dave asked, shaking his head.
"Okay." She said before sitting down on the bed. "I think it will be nice if we sleep separately tonight don't you think?"
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Yeah, sure." He said with a slowed-down voice.
<If only she knew what you really wanted to say>
"Sure?" Emma said, sounding a bit confused. "I mean goodnight." She rephrased her words before lying down on the bed and covering herself.
"Goodnight," Dave said before turning to the side. "She wants to sleep on the other bed, that's okay." He muttered.
He brought his phone back to his gaze and was about to start scrolling through it when he felt two arms wrap around him, he didn't need to turn to know who it was.
"I didn't mean that."
"I was hoping you didn't." He said before turning to her with a smile on his face.
The two talked about some things for a while before Emma had fallen asleep with her arms wrapped around him and her head on his chest.
Dave watched her sleep while listening to her little peaceful snores and after a while, he too had fallen asleep.
Just twenty minutes into his sleep, the goalkeeper found himself in a completely white area that he couldn't exactly make anything of.
"What is going on?" He said with a confused expression on his face as he looked around.
He expected Catherine to say something about his current situation but there was nothing from her.
He thought this was just her being silent and decided to walk down a little to see if he could see anything reasonable.
He walked a few distances before he spotted someone.
"Hello." He said, getting closer to the person but there was no response.
He got closer to see that the person happened to be a red-haired female dressed in a black suit.
"Hello." He called again and this time the female turned for him to see her face.
She had an oval face with nice-looking brown eyes, a small but cute nose, and beautiful small lips.
"Hello, Dave." She said,
As soon as he heard that voice, he realized that it sounded just like a voice that he had been expecting to hear in his head for quite a while now.
"Catherine?" He said with a stunned look on his face.
