The West Ham United player with the name Filipe written below the number nine on the back of his jersey was standing over the ball now waiting for the referee's whistle and as soon as he heard it, he passed the ball to his closest teammate.
"There's the whistle and we are on the way."
Unique FC players started to chase the ball aggressively as soon as they heard that whistle but West Ham United weren't planning on losing the ball that early so they had to slowly move it back with their passes.
Unique FC were playing with their standard four-three-three formation just like Jim said earlier and because there was no Mateo or Ferran on the pitch, we had Fredinho in the left-wing position and then Henry replacing Ferran.
Henry was pretty good as an attacking midfielder and Fredinho had shown in a couple of matches that he has what it takes to be a good left winger, so there was really nothing for the home team to get worried about.
West Ham United were still with the ball and we're doing everything possible to keep it away from Unique FC players who were doing everything they could to try and get the ball back.
It didn't take long before they started to make West Ham United look wary in their own half.
That pressure caused one of the players to make a careless pass which was immediately stolen from Minino but instead of trying to create something with it, he went directly for the goalpost because he was close enough to and why not?
Unfortunately, that wasn't the wisest choice as he along with everyone else watched as his shot flew over the bar for a goal kick.
"First strike from Unique FC," Jim commented. "He could have done so much with that, but that's all in the past now."
"Yeah, a pass to Merino on the right could have turned out better and maybe they would be celebrating a goal by now." Steve expressed.
The match continued as the goalkeeper played a short pass to the right back who immediately sent it flying over to the left midfielder.
The midfielder brought the ball down with his foot, and just before Minino could get to him, he pushed the ball to his teammate who was pretty close to him now.
The player had the name Sunblade written above the number seven on the back of his jersey.
As soon as Sunblade got his foot on the ball, Minino quickly rushed toward him to try and take it off his feet with a tackle.
All Sunblade did in that situation was shift the ball a little to the right with his left foot before getting it past Minino with a chip.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"Nicely done by Sunblade."
He pushed a little further with the ball before passing it to Felipe who sent it back to his fellow striker as soon as he got hold of it to avoid losing it to Adolf.
The other striker had the name Ray written above the number twenty on the back of his jersey.
As soon as Ray got his foot on the ball, he sent it rolling to the midfielder a little to the right with a backheel pass.
As soon as the midfielder got his foot on the ball he took off with it down the wing, and just before he could run into Roland, he sent it flying in toward the edge of the box.
Felipe ended up getting his head on the ball ahead of Adolf and that was such a good header that it looked like it was going to sink into the goalpost from above.
Dave kept his gaze on the ball and waited for it to get close enough before he stretched both of his hands and caught the ball.
"That looked quite tricky, but it's going to take more than that to be able to trick Dave Richards, he puts all his focus on the ball as soon as it starts coming toward his goalpost," Jim commented.
'Does that count as a crucial save?' Dave asked subconsciously before throwing the ball to Roland.
[ Crucial saves: 0 ]
'Eh, I guess that makes sense since it didn't feel crucial for me.'
The match continued with Unique FC dominating West Ham United in terms of possession, they also got a couple of good chances which all ended up going to waste.
West Ham United also got a couple of chances, they had the best chance out of both teams so far.
A one on one situation in which Adolf ended up saving with a header after Sunblade got past Dave, if he had been a little more clinical then maybe they would have been one goal up now.
West Ham United were the ones with the ball now after Henry lost it under a tackle that seemed like it was a foul, but the referee allowed play to continue.
The defender moved forward with the ball before passing it to Sunblade who immediately sent it rolling to Felipe with the first touch.
Felipe had both Martinez and Henry coming at him so he had to send the ball back to Sunblade who played it short to the midfielder beside him.
The player moved a little to the right with the ball before laying it off to the midfielder on the right.
Roland quickly closed up on him at that time and in other to avoid losing the ball, he sent the ball rolling back to Sunblade who quickly pushed past Minino with the ball before passing it to Felipe near the edge of the box.
"West Ham United are linking up nicely here."
Felipe got his foot on the ball and just before Adolf could do anything to take it from him, he sent the ball rolling into the box with a backheel pass.
The ball went through Aima's legs to get to Ray who was now through on goal with Dave being the only one in front of him.
"He's through! This could be the moment!"
Unfortunately for the striker, Aima wasn't going to make things that easy for him as he quickly stretched his legs toward him and brought him down under a terrible challenge before he could take the shot.
"Uh, oh, that's not good."
The referee blew his whistle before quickly rushing to the area to show Aima a yellow card.
"He stopped Ray from potentially putting it away and got a booking out of it, but now they have a penalty kick to deal with, was it really worth it?" Steve commented.
Ray was standing over the ball now waiting for the referee's whistle while he made sure nothing was out of place.
'If this goes in then the whole quest collapses.'
<Then don't let it go in>
'I don't think that's how it works, but I'll try my best.'
After making sure that everything was ready, the referee blew his whistle, and now it was over to Ray to see if he has what it takes to give his team the lead.
He was already standing a little distance away from the ball and all he needed to do now was close up on it and send it toward the goalpost.
Dave was jumping on his goal line as he slowly closed up on the ball and as soon as he got close enough, he fired the ball toward the goalpost.
Dave was glued to the spot as the ball flew toward the top right-hand side and smashed into the net.
"He left Dave unable to make a choice as he smashed it into the net!" Jim exclaimed.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmRay let out a scream as he raced to the sideline and no doubt, their fans were going wild now.
"West Ham United have just taken the lead against the group leaders, it's too early to say anything now but there's no doubt that they came to this match with the determination to win." Steve expressed.
[ Quest failed ]
"That's the second time in a row," Dave muttered before letting out a deep sigh.
The match continued with Unique FC immediately entering bully mode.
They were no longer giving West Ham United the spaces they gave them earlier as they bossed the game around, especially in midfield but they were still having trouble scoring.
The match had just entered the forty-fifth minute with four minutes of added time and a lackluster-looking West Ham United still had the lead.
Minino was racing down the right wing with the ball now, and just before Sunblade along with another player could attempt to take it from him, he sent the ball rolling to Merino.
"Minino to Merino."
Merino raced down the wing with the ball but he wasn't free as he had the left back hot on his trail, but before he could push the ball over the line for a goal kick he sent rolling into the box.
One of the players who was rushing into the area at that time mistakenly hit the ball with his backheel and sent it flying toward Fredinho who immediately brought it down with his chest.
He was near the goalkeeper now with all the other players behind him.
"This is their chance!"
The goalkeeper stretched his hand to take the ball from the striker's feet but he wasn't planning to make things that easy for him.
He quickly moved to the right with the ball to avoid the goalkeeper and just before a defender could get to him, he sent the ball rolling into the goalpost.
"Easy goal for Fredinho, they're back on level terms again."
For some reason, Jim didn't scream after witnessing that goal.
Fredinho was going to do though as he let out a scream before he picked up the ball and shot it right back into the goalpost.
