Chapter 66 Tyson arrived at the graveyard, only to see that Willow and Jasper were coming his way, so they all had to take that path back to the village.

He was on the breaking point. This was a path to hell.

When they got to the village proper, the paths there would be better for walking, at least.

Willow returned to find a whole crowd of people admiring the Rolls-Royce. They all looked up at her as she approached, then turned with shining eyes to gape at Jasper behind her, regarding him with curiosity, awe, and also sterror.

As Jasper got closer, his intimidating aura caused the villagers to fall back nervously, the crowd parting to let them through, but continuing to watch from a safe distance of several feet away.

"Mr Jasper, slow down! Wait for me!" Samantha hurried forward so that she could walk along beside the man, gazing shyly up at him with an adoring smile.

She looked, for all the world, like a blushing bride next to her own husband.

Jasper ignored her completely.

Nevertheless, Samantha's affectionate display worked great with her own fellow villagers.

So this wealthy prince charming was here for Samantha! Surely he was that rich boyfriend she'd found recently! Everyone knew that Samantha had suddenly becrich, getting herself a big house and a fancy car. It had to be thanks to a wealthy man somewhere, paying for all of her new things! And now here was a rich, dashing fellow... this had to be him! Samantha's new boyfriend! Now that the mystery character had finally appeared, the villagers were all abuzz, discussing Samantha's incredible good fortune.

Of course, Willow overheard sof it as she walked past: "So that's Samantha's new boyfriend! He's so good- looking... and so rich! She really hit the jackpot!" For sreason, Willow felt herself getting upset.

If Jasper was already Samantha's boyfriend, why did he pull Willow onto his lap, last night? Had he only been toying around with her? And then her confusion changed to becanger.

She walked faster, heading for home, until she was standing in her own living room. She made no move to go prepare any food.

Jasper entered the house, and began examining everything in detail.

It was a simple brick construction. The whitewashed walls were cracked and falling apart halfway. The roof was full of holes, and would obviously leak whenever it rained.

The inside of the house was kept clean and tidy, at least. However, it was damp and gloomy all the same. A person could easily fall sick, living in a place like this.

Far from a cozy hto grow up in.

Jasper's eyebrows raised very slightly. With his low, captivating voice, he asked, "Who else lives here?" "Um..."

"Willow spends most of her tworking at jobs far away from the village, leaving her Aunt Helen all on her own here. That's Yvette's mother, e by the way, Samantha answered, before Willow could. Willow absolutely could not be allowed to start talking about her four children! Jasper would certainly start asking about the father, and then he'd find out about the true story... Jasper fixed her with an ice-cold glare. "I wasn't asking you." Samantha shrank away from that piercing gaze, and fell silent. "She's right," Willow said. "It's mostly just my Aunt Helen here."

"Where is she?" Jasper asked, peering deeper into the house, m Yvette's mother he ought to meet her in person, arrange a nicer house for her to live in.

"She's out, right now. Probably at a card game." Once again, Samantha cut in to take over the dialogue, and paint Helen with a negative image, as skind of gambling addict. "Her? Playing cards? Nonsense!" Willow shot back, standing up to Samantha's slander against her Aunt Helen.
