“Sanford, have you and Maggie had a fight?”

retorted sarcastically.
Brian pursed his lips, rendered speechless by Sanford’s response.
“Anything else? If not, I’ll have to hang up,” Sanford stated matter-of-factly.
“No. Bye,” Brian replied and ended the call.
Rosalynn approached him, her eyes filled with curiosity. “What did he say?”
Brian paused for several seconds, gathering his thoughts. “He said that he and Maggie are no Longer
together.”
The sudden turn of events caught Rosalynn off guard. Her mind raced, trying to process the

Our relationship was destined to end sooner or later.”

“Why did you investigate Sanford’s whereabouts? Did you see him with another woman?”
