Chapter 964

Stella smacked the back of his hand and glared at him. "I texted you on WhatsApp. Didn't you check your phone?"

"You asked me to take a good rest, right?"

Stella paused. ’I sent you a few messages. I told you I needed to do a favor for Marshall, and I was going to see you

after your rest."

Keegan frowned. "I only read the message about resting."

The other messages were probably erased or delayed because he had to switch off his phone.

Then, Stella repeated everything that was happening to him. "He said that others had introduced him to several

girls, and he thought it would be inappropriate to keep rejecting them. So, he lied about having a girlfriend. But,

Duncan asked him to bring his girlfriend along to attend his wedding. He couldn't find a girl, so he came to me and

asked for my help. I was afraid that you'd misunderstand anything, so I called you. But, your phone was switched

off.

'Can't find a girl?'

Keegan scoffed.

"Do you have no principles? You're a married woman. How could you do a favor like this?"

"You're just my boyfriend on probation.’ Stella corrected him. She paused for a moment before she continued,

"Marshall was the one who handled my mother’s funeral arrangement. I just couldn't refuse him."

Stella noticed that Keegan still looked a little unhappy after she said that. So, she stretched her pinky out and

hooked his palm before she softly said, "Besides, I didn't want to hide this from you. I called and texted you."

However, Keegan was not mad at her.

He was only angry because Marshall was the reason why she had to put so much makeup on her face, and she only

had to help him because she owed him a favor.

He regretted everything that he did before and after the divorce. He figured that Marshall would never have an

opportunity to make Stella owe him a favor if he would just control his temper and communicate more with Stella.

He just could not accept the fact that Marshall guilt trip Stella into doing such a thing to repay him.

Keegan took a deep breath to suppress his emotions. Then, he pinched her earlobe and asked softly, ’Who made

you look like this?"

Stella answered, "A makeup artist that Marshall hired. He claimed that no one would recognize me with this

makeup."

Then, she paused before she complained, 'I thought you'd recognize me with just a glance!"

Keegan kept quiet.

"I didn't wear my glasses."

Stella was speechless.

'How could I forget that?

'Keegan is nearsighted.'

Keegan would not normally wear spectacles or contact lenses unless it was for an important occasion.

"Do you want to go home?" Keegan held her in his arms. "Do you want me to drive you back?"

He did not want to see Stella standing next to Marshall, even if it was just for the show.

"I don't think so," Stella said softly. "I'm going to be alone at home since you'll still be here. I don't want to go back."

Keegan's heart immediately softened after hearing what Stella said.

However, he said this anyway, "Then, you better not hold his hand. Stay away from him."

Stella said, ’I was planning to leave right after meeting the bride and groom anyway. I didn't expect that you'd show

up."

She chuckled after she said that. "So, that's how you look when somebody else teases you. You're so hostile." She

paused for a moment before leaning into his ear. "Are you really not into wild kittens?"

Keegan's gaze turned deep. "Do you want to finish what we started?"

Stella quickly shut up.

When they were tidying up in the washroom, Stella suddenly said while looking in the mirror, "Did you feel like you

were cheating with someone else when you were kissing me just now?"

Keegan was speechless.

He then said, "It's okay to keep quiet when you have nothing to say, baby."

Stella paused. ’What did you call me?"
