"Be careful," I warned Pence as he walked toward the nest.
It is an extremely delicate thing, a slight mistake, and it would all be over. We would die before we knew what happened.
We followed behind and soon reached the nest.
It is as big as the red dome had looked from the outside and an entrance that is similarly big. Nobody walked into the entrance, everybody had been entranced by the massive branches of the nest.
Each branch is a pure energy that took thousands of years to form.
I could feel the intense hunger from my core; it doesn't have much interest in the spatial one that everybody is looking for, but there are branches of other elements as well, including a one branch deep within, related to time.
These branches are things that are powering everything in the core. Without them, it would simply collapse.
"First, let's send the people out," I said. Many looked at me unwillingly and some cultists had even glared, but all entered inside.
The inside is empty, except for one giant mirror of crystal. It is not a perfect mirror; it is murky, and one can barely see one's face inside.
There are also my things, twelve rubies, which had done a wonderful job, and a few more things.
"How do we activate the exit?" Sky Sovereign Orina asked, turned to me. Buzz!
I smiled, and several seconds later, the mirror flashed before turning bright in a silvery light.
"Contact the organization; the moment you get out," she said to Earth Sovereigns of the organization. She didn't have to say it; since we disappeared abruptly; they will be searching for us.
The moment we get out, they will sense it as long as it is blocked by any power or formations.
"We also deserve some share," said stone skin woman, called Srena. "You deserve shit. If not for us, you wouldn't get out of here. While you are here, helped us in no way, it could even be said, you had increased the load on us," replied Sky Sovereign Pens.
His language may be coarse, but he is right. Earth Sovereigns hadn't contributed. She glared at him before stepping into the crystal and disappearing. The others gave the nest one last look, before started stepping into the crystal one by one.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtWe don't know where they will appear; the queen might have been able to tell, but I couldn't decipher the data. I could only give commands, thanks to the instructions in the books.
Soon, everybody left, leaving only us and the wonderful nest. "First practice on the model, before attempting on the nest; the slightest mistake and we all might die here," I said, and handed Orina the disk.
The disk is from Pence.
It is a very powerful artifact. It was able to model a nest that they would be able to practice the method on.
Buzz!
The model appeared and the first to try on is Pence. He constructed the delicate formation and wrapped it around the branch. When he tried to pull, it out; the whole next began to shake and exploded in spatial blast within a second.
"I am trying next," said Sky Sovereign Mrinen and started, but he was only able to do slightly better.
The third one to try was Sky Sovereign Orina.
She didn't speak any word and tried and was actually able to pull the branch till the near end, before the problem occurred.
They tried again and again, failing over and over. It is not an easy task; one needs to be very good at energy control and needs to have a great familiarity with the element. The space isn't an element that even the Sky Sovereigns are intimately familiar with.
They may have much better luck with the other element, but they don't want the other element.
They want the space element.
In Prime, one creates a spatial dimension in their core. The quality of dimension depends a lot on the material that had been used to create it and these branches are the best material.
They are specially made for that.
I do not need these branches for this purpose. My core had already developed the dimension, and it is already bigger than Prime's and does more than what Prime's dimension could do.
However, I do need it, especially when I saw how it is made from extremely pure spatial energies.
I do not just want it, but want others as well. It would be a great haul if I could get my hands on it.
"I give up; it would take me quite a while if I want to master the method." Said Sky Sovereign Pens in frustration.
"Me too," said Sky Sovereign Mrenin.
With them giving up, Sky Sovereign Orina got the disk for herself. She can already remove the branch that is far from enough; the real task was going to be difficult, and she needed extremely good before she would be able to try it.
At least, she needed to be succeeded a hundred times without any failure will need to try again.
We are willing to spend hours and even days on it.
They are one-of-a-kind resources. We are extremely lucky to get our hands on them and didn't want to mess it up by being rushed.
"Finally," said Pens, as Orina succeeds.
She didn't immediately start on the branches. She sat down and closed her and didn't open them for over twenty minutes.
"I am going to try," she said, and we all moved toward the crystal disc; ready to leap out the moment we sensed the danger.
We will get less than a second of time to get out if everything goes to hell.
The runes began to materialize around her and a few minutes later; she was ready and sent those runes toward the silvery branch, that is safest to take out.
It is bigger than me and has many tiny branches coming out of it. The real task would be untangled; that is where the mess happens.
It is the least untangled spatial branch is why, we chose it first.
The runes reach it and slowly begin to cover it. It took less than a minute to cover the whole branch.
Now, the real task, bringing it out.
She begins with that and is gentle as the whisper and slow, very slow. She didn't make any wrong moment, despite the slowness of her task.
It took her over one and a half hours before she had untangled it, before pulling it in front of us.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"It is really something," said Pens, with laborious breathing.
"It is also extremely dangerous. Have enough power to kill a Prime," said Orina and put it into the box and storing it in her storage.
Nobody said anything; we have sworn the oath. The organization would make sure, each of us will get an equal share.
She rested for a few minutes before trying again, and this time, she chose the second most difficult. It is more entangled, but also slightly bigger. Like the last time, she worked carefully. Spreading the surrounding formation, before slowly starting to untangle it from the rest of the net, while we watched with bated breath.
We would also look at the crystal mirror, ready to jump, the moment we sensed the problem.
Nearly two hours later; we had the second spatial branch.
We have not set a limit on harvesting; the only spatial branch we are unwilling to harvest is the one connected to the exit, and we also need to do it, within one and a half days.
With us harvesting the branches, the spatial degradation will begin in one and a half days. We want to get out of here before that.
She finished resting and began trying for the third more, a little more untangled than the last one, but also smaller than the two. It may be small, but it is easier to untangle from the fourth one.
The runes covered it, and she started to untangle it slowly.
Hun!
Over two hours passed, and she had removed the obstacle; she was about to pull it when we all sensed the disturbance.
"Run!" shouted Orina, and pulled the spatial branch and put it into the box, and jumped into the crystal mirror like the two.
I too did that, but seeing I was weaker than them, I am slower, which is what I wanted. To pull my strings without anyone, seeing me do that.
I pulled them.
I had pulled in such a way that branches began to untangle on their own.
There is no way I would depend on others to harvest these amazing resources. That would be idiotic. While they were practicing, I had already sent my strings to the branches, my clones told me.
All the branches my strings were connected to had come out, and the strings were not connected to the branches of the spatial element only, but all the elements of the nest.
I have need of it all.
As I pulled them; I placed them in my core and entered the crystal mirror, with the hope I would come out to the other side safely.
