"Welcome back; you took quite a time to wake up," said the voice as my eyes fluttered open.
I am in a med-bed and could feel the medicine in my system eliminating the curse. It is a cure I had designed. They made it and it is working better than I had imagined; with 90% efficacy.
"How long I was out?" I asked as I turned to the blue-cat beastman beside me. I know the answer to this question, but I had asked it, anyway. It would seem weird if I did not ask the question.
"Two days and now we are returning to the city." He replied, and I turned to the window, and the blurry scenes passing through.
I was in an airship, and everything seemed fine. The curse I had infected myself with working and the data I had got from the clone. They did not suspect anything, treating me like a normal patient.
Suddenly, my expression changed, and I turned to the beastman again; he seemed to realize what I was thinking, as a grin appeared on his face.
"Yes; after surviving the ruin, spawns, and their curse. They did not show any mercy and took 60% of what we had gotten from the ruin," he said, but did not seem sad, accepting the fact it had been.
"Well, thankfully, I had got quite a fortune killing the spawn. Even after them taking 60%, I could live off it for decades and, if lucky, might even make a breakthrough into the Sovereign class," he added with a hopeful expression.
"Best of luck," I said, to which he smiled.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtI turned to my storage, which is 60% less in value. They have taken it, but I will have the opportunity to buy the things they have taken in a few days.
I have no interest in buying it, but I will have to do it for the show.
I have already prepared my storage ring, putting quite a lot of stuff there. A mix of normal and precious, along with a few belongings that any storage would have.
While I had put some precious things there, I do not need them. Everything I need is in my core.
Thinking of core. I went inside my core and as I appeared there, a smile couldn't help but lit up my face, seeing all this greenery.
Aside from the few buildings and some small opened spaces, every inch of my core is filled with plants. There are all types of plants in every element, growing in their specialized environment.
I was able to get more bloodline Grimms than I had thought I would, especially after the mist appeared.
With me reaching the limit, everything had gone to the seedling of the world tree. Which has also grown a lot and produced a lot of growth energy, that helped me harvest a large number of resources.
I moved around, watching every kind of resource, from the two kinds of stainless lotuses in the corrupt pool to the metal essence tree, which had fruits glittering in the metallic shin.
I had already harvested a few and will harvest more before the breakthrough.
I stopped at the spatial tree, which is at High-Primary-III, with two fruits hanging on it. I have got a couple of Peak-Primary bloodlines Grimms, after the mist, which produced powerful growth energy.
It would have taken the tree to the Peak-Primary-III, but I did not use a single speck of that growth energy on this tree.
It will only mature when it reached the Sovereign class. So, it would have a waste to use it on it, seeing I do not have a need for it, till I reach the Peak-Primary III.
I am a long way from reaching that level and thus used that growth energy on important plants, that I will be on my immediate list.
There were a lot of resources were on the immediate list and I had been able to grow them, with a lot of growth energy. Now, I just wanted to reach the city and start the preparations as soon as possible.
Speaking of preparations, I walked inside the library.
There, two of my clones are working on the inheritances, while the other two are busy crafting the treatments.
I may have reached the limit and could make a breakthrough, but I am not ready for it. To make sure I reach the Sovereign stage in the future, I need to prepare my body, soul, and energy for it.
It will not be easy and need a lot of resources, but I will do it. I won't be making a breakthrough into the Peak-Primary II.
I am already late, and I don't want to be late anymore.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThankfully, I have everything I need. I have a trove of data from the library and the one I had collected myself and nearly all the resources. Once I reach the Klahan, I won't be getting out of it until I make a breakthrough in Peak-Primary II.
I sat by my clones and started working with them. It is amazing and frustrating, the way I liked it.
A few hours passed when suddenly, I opened my eyes, as a man appeared in front of me and begin checking on me using different devices.
"The curse on you had nearly disappeared. Still, take this potion in the morning tomorrow and rest, at least for a week, before doing something heavy," said the man with metallic horns, and handed me a potion bottle before moving to a different person.
I did not immediately go back to my core and instead looked around me.
There are hundreds of people on the bed, nearly all cursed, but healing. The curse was powerful and if I did not have immunity and my methods; I would be in this condition, or rather, here.
All the surrounding people are powerful; the beastman beside me is a Peak-Primary-III and not a weak one either.
Most of the people present here art at the same level. I am only one of the Mid-Primary III, in the hundreds of highs and peaks.
I wonder how many people have survived, while I could guess the number and feel it will near accurate. I still want to see what number the city will show; they should be truthful, to rage the masses, but not truthful enough for the masses to direct their rage at the city.
This rarely happened; the tiniest revolt against the city was crushed swiftly, especially when it was made by the general populace.
I watched for a few minutes before closing my eyes and once again started working in the library with my clones.
Over four hours passed when I had opened my eyes again. Others also did the same and even sat on their beds. Though nobody made the move to leave; everybody is waiting for the directions.
"Ok, it is time for you all to leave. I would appreciate it if you all walk slowly without pushing and shoving," said the woman with a thick mane of blond hair and a pointed tail.
Everybody nodded and began to move calmly from the hall. They do not have any choice; the woman is Sovereign, and you do not want to mess with the Sovereign.
