Judy kept a watchful eye on Lumma. “Lumma, can you handle spicy food?”

Lumma smiled. “I’m also from Soothy City.”

Judy exclaimed, “What a coincidence! Not only do you share the same name as Adam’s wife, but you’re also from

the same city and work as Adam’s assistant. It seems that our family and people with the surname Louis are truly

destined.”

Lumma also found it quite remarkable. The surname Louis was already rare, and to share a name with Adam’s wife

seemed like a fortunate twist of fate.

“Could you please pause for a moment?” Adam worried that Judy’s excessive talking might raise Lumma’s

suspicions. He promptly scooped some food onto Judy’s plate with a serving spoon. “I’ve told you countless times,

‘Silence at the table.”

Judy leaned closer to Lumma and whispered, “Lumma, look at how strict Adam is. I bet only his wife can tolerate

him. With his personality, no other woman would be interested in him.”

“That’s not true. Your brother is quite popular out there,” Lumma replied in a low voice with a smile.

As Adam’s assistant, Lumma was well aware of Adam’s popularity. Wherever Lumma accompanied him, she could

see there were always people eager to strike up a conversation with Adam.

Despite knowing he was married, many women actively sought his attention.

Judy commented, “Those women are attracted to him because of his looks and wealth. If he had neither, it would

be a different story with his temperament.”

Lumma chuckled, “But he does have both looks and wealth.”

“Let’s not discuss him anymore,” Judy said. “Lumma, these dishes suit your taste, so please help yourself.”

“Do you like spicy food?” Lumma asked.

“When I was in college, my close friends came from all over the country. We often went out to eat

together/sampling each friend’s regional cuisine. It took some getting used to, but gradually I could eat any dish.

That’s why I’m not a picky eater anymore,” Judy explained.

“Not being a picky eater is great. It allows you to savor various culinary delights. Do you eat canned salmon and

blue cheese?” Lumma inquired.

Judy nodded enthusiastically, “Yes, I love them. But Adam doesn’t eat them, so we never have those two items at

home. Whenever I crave them, I have to eat out.”

“People who are picky eaters are unfortunate. They’ll never experience the joy of indulging in canned salmon and

blue cheese,” Lumma remarked.

“You two can talk a bit louder, so I can hear you more clearly,” Adam interrupted.

Lumma felt a pang of guilt.

They had been engrossed in their conversation, unintentionally ignoring the pickiest eater sitting right next to them.

“Adam, we weren’t saying anything negative about you,” Judy retorted.

“I’m not deaf. Let’s focus on the meal,” Adam replied.

With their superior issuing orders, Lumma had no choice but to obediently eat her food and refrain from further

idle chatter.

These dishes were all Lumma’s favorites, and the chef’s culinary skills were outstanding. Lumma couldn’t resist

indulging in the delicious food, and by the time she finished, her stomach was full to the brim.

Marie brought Lumma some nourishing soup. “Ms. Louis, this soup was specially prepared for you. It will help

replenish your body.”

Lumma’s stomach couldn’t handle any more. “Marie, can I skip it, please?”

Marie smiled and said, “I’ll keep it warm. You can have it later when your stomach settles in the afternoon.”

“Thank you, Marie!” Lumma expressed her gratitude. This family was too kind to her, and the more they treated

her well, the more uncomfortable she felt, as if she were encroaching on the position of the lady of the house.

Feeling full and overcome by sleepiness, Judy’s exhaustion was clearly evident. She covered her mouth and let out

a yawn, saying, “Lumma, now that we’re full, let’s take a short nap.”

“Sounds good.” Lumma looked at Adam and said, “Mr. Hills, I’ll go rest for a while.”

Adam nodded, remaining silent.

As Lumma entered her room, her personal phone buzzed a few times. She quickly grabbed it, relieved that this

time it was a message from Lucas.
