Mafia Kings: Valentino: Chapter 16 All in all, I really enjoyed my job and where I worked.

And though I might not have gotten every single thing I wanted from Valentino - like the occasional tender lovemaking - I still didn't want things to ever change.

But they did.

Everything does, eventually.

The first huge change was when a Swedish man named Lars cto the house.

He was very handsome. Not as handsas Valentino, obviously - but still plenty hot.

Lars had been in prison with Dario, Valentino's oldest brother. Once Lars got out, Dasent him to his family so they could give him a job.

They gave him a job, all right: overturning the apple cart.

Apparently he had been a soldier, because he began training all the men who worked for the family - and Valentino and his brothers - in self-defense and firing guns.

Overnight, the grounds around the mansion turned into a military base.

Valentino trained for hours in the afternoon and was so worn out that he temporarily stopped coming to my room at night.

Which was good in that I finally caught up on smuch-needed sleep - But I was beginning to get irritated with Signor Lars.

At least Val would still cinto the kitchen in the early morning hours and fuck my brains out. That part didn't change, thankfully.

Then tragedy struck: Valentino's father died. A heart attack out of nowhere.

The brothers were devastated - especially Adriano, who had a soft side I'd never realized existed.

Valentino was in so much pain, I did everything I could to comfort him.

Mostly it was just holding him at night as we lay in bed, slowly stroking his hair. We didn't have sex for almost a week...

And when we did, I did my best to drown him in pleasure so he could forget his grief, at least temporarily.

The next big change was that Fausto and Aureleft - and took half the household staff with them.

I never knew exactly what Fausto did, but I knew he did something important. Very important. The way everyone deferred to him, it was like he was the second most powerful person in the house after Leonardo. After Leonardo's death, Fausto no longer worked for the family. Instead, he went out on his own.

If that wasn't smafia-style shit, I don't know what is.

The day after Signor Leonardo's funeral, more than half the kitchen staff was gone. Signora Lombardi, Nuncio, and most of my older co-workers left to go work in Fausto's new home.

Which, in a way, was great for me.

I didn't have to deal with Fausto's arrogance or Aurelio's nastiness anymore.

I also got an immediate promotion to fixing lunch and breakfast with the few morning staff left.

It was chaotic and three times as much work, but I was finally doing what I loved: cooking.

And people noticed.

Valentino always toldmy food was amazing, so that wasn't new.

But Roberto and Massimo both stopped by the kitchen to tellthat the quality of breakfast and lunch had improved immensely, which madeswell with pride.

Adriano merely nodded and said, "Good shit," every the finished a meal and saw me.

Others might not see that as huge praise, but considering who it cfrom, it really was.

Even Niccolo stopped by and complimented me... although that didn't maketrust him anymore.

And then Signor Dagot out of prison and chome.

He took over his father's spot because everybody on staff was instructed to call him Don Rosolini (cough cough, mafia, cough cough).

Dawas handsas hell. After Valentino, he was probably the hottest of the brothers.

But... he madereally nervous.

He was never mean to me, not once. In fact, he frequently smiled if he sawin the kitchen.

He was just so... imposing.

Like a king. Mysterious and powerful.

And dangerous.

There was definitely something that felt very dangerous about him...

Like he was the mafia incarnate.

A week after Daarrived, Alessandra showed up.

I loved Alessandra! She was like the sister I wish I'd actually had. She was sweet and kind and she liked being En around me, unlike my actual siblings.

I found out early that she was extremely innocent.

She wasn't just a virgin - I had to explain everything about sex to her.

EVERYTHING.

She was terrified when she showed up, poor thing. I eventually found out that Don Rosolini had kidnapped her (dough cough, MAFIA) and brought her to the estate. The whole kidnapping thing shocked- But I guess Alessandra got over it because she started sleeping with Daa week after she arrived.

For somebody who didn't know anything about sex when she showed up, she sure moved fast! Because she had a good teacher. Ha!

The one tI got mad at her was when she looked at my phone when I wasn't pantound (was probably in the pantry with Valentino, ahem) and then ran away. Niccolo askedquestions afterwards.

He acted all nice, like he was just concerned...

And then he got angry. Very angry.

I was already nervous around Niccolo after the way he acted when he hired me.

Let's just say that getting in trouble with him once was enough for a lifetime.

I was very put out with Alessandra after that, but she was incredibly apologetic, and I forgave her.

It worked out for her, though, because the errand I demanded she do as penance led to her sleeping with Dafor the first time.

That girl...

Like a cat, she always landed on her feet.
