First Love 79
Chapter 79
Angela's expression darkened instantly.
Why did Elena always have to be so persistent?
And what was with her comment? She and Alan weren't even sharing the scookie!
Angela didn't bother responding. She simply took a bite of the cookie without even turning around.
"Ms. Graham, | grabbed sextra pastries from the refreshments table. Would you like to try some?" Elena
chimed in again.
“Just ignore her. She's not worth it,” Angela said to Alan.
Dexter sneered coldly, his gaze piercing even though Angela's back was turned to him. Everything about her
seemed to annoy him.
Alan and the rest of the team watched as the scene unfolded, their curiosity piqued.
Was Dexter angry, or perhaps jealous?
But it didn't seem like it.
His gaze was so intense it felt like it could burn a hole through her.
The group couldn't help but recall the rumors about Angela and Dexter not getting along- it seemed they were
true.
Initially, they thought that as long as he was the man Angela chose, they'd accept him, even if they didn't like
him.

Aside from his good look, what else did he even have to offer? To make matters worse, he had a clingy,
pretentious flirt constantly hovering around him-definitely a red flag.
“Alan, could you passanother cookie?” Angela asked casually, raising an eyebrow. It was clear that she was
trying to provoke Elena on purpose.
Alan quickly crouched down and emptied his bag of snacks, pouring out all the coffee-flavored cookies, along
with scoffee-flavored muffins, coffee-flavored protein bars, and bottled coffees.
"Take your pick, Angela," Alan said with a sincere smile.
Angela crouched down beside him and picked out a coffee-flavored muffin.
“Thanks. | hope these treats can mask the fake charm speople wear like perfume. It's honestly suffocating,”
she replied, waving her hand in front of her nose, pretending to be

disgusted.
“What's that supposed to mean, Angela!” Elena snapped, briefly losing her composure. Then, she paused briefly
before taking a step forward. "Why don't you try the snacks | brought for you instead?"
"No thanks,” Angel replied, dismissing her with a wave, avoiding any contact with Elena.
Elena, however, deliberately loosened her grip on the plate, causing everything to fall and scatter on the floor.
“Angela, | wasn't forcing you to eat them, but you didn't have to..." Elena said, taking a step back, feigning
shock.
Hearing the sudden commotion, Dexter rushed over and glanced briefly at Elena. “Are you alright?”
From where he was standing, he hadn't seen what exactly happened, only that Angela had waved her hand
dismissively.
Furthermore, he still couldn't shake the image of Angela sharing the scookie as Alan. Elena lowered her
gaze and shook her head gently as if she had been terribly wronged. "Hey, what's with that face? Angela didn't
even touch you. You were the one who dropped the plate on your own!" Alan said coldly.
Clara forced a smile. "Ms. Carrey, you seem so delicate. I'm wondering if you could even lift a pencil. Should |
recommend a doctor to you?"
"Why does she always act like the victim? We all know what's really going on," someone else added.
Elena's face turned red with embarrassment.
This was ridiculous!
How could they make such rude remarks about her?
"Dexter, | didn't do it on purpose. My hand just slipped." She turned to Dexter, tears welling up in her eyes.
Dexter, however, was focused on Angela.
She was surrounded by her team, who were protecting her like a group of knights with their
queen.
Dexter found it quite interesting. He couldn't help but wonder how she had managed to gain such loyal
supporters after only a few days at DawnStar.
It was clear that she wasn't someone simple.

"Let's go,” he said. He finally turned his gaze away from her and gently patted Elena's back to comfort her. Elena
nodded, shooting Angela a meaningful glance before quickly following behind Dexter.
As soon as they left, the tension in the air immediately lifted.
“Angela, don't take it to heart. People like her are just fake and tic. Don't let them bring you down," Alan
said. He carefully studied Angela's expression, worried that she would break down.
