First Love 67
Chapter 67
"How long are you planning to stay here?” Angela was fuming. It seemed that Dexter was planning to stay at her
house for a while.
"Didn't you hear what Grandpa said? He said | can only go back when you're ready to return home." Dexter
replied casually. He leaned back on the couch with a shrug and a helpless expression.
“Fine, you can stay! But I'm warning you, you're only allowed in the living room and the guest bedroom. Don't
even think of going anywhere else, especially not the second floor!” Angela retorted coldly, the frustration clear
in her yoice.
Dexter shrugged again. "You say it as if | want to stay here."
Angela was at a loss for words. "If that's the case, why don't you just explain to Grandpa that we..."
Just before she could finish her sentence, she realized that the maids hadn't left yet. So, she quickly swallowed
back her words and shot a glare at Dexter.
Dexter's face darkened instantly. He ordered everyone to leave in a low voice.
Once they were alone, he stood up abruptly and leaned in closer to her.
“I'm warning you, Angela, three years is still a long way to go. You better act like nothing happened. Otherwise, if

With no other options, Dexter settled in at Villa Heights.
To his surprise, his wound becinfected the next day, and he couldn't go to work for the next two to three
days.
Angela couldn't help but feel a sense of smug satisfaction. She thought to herself that Dexter would finally have
to leave now!
As long as he stopped bothering her, she didn't care if he went back to Bamford Estate.
However, the next afternoon, he called her during lunch hour, asking her to return to help him change his
bandages.
Angela couldn't take it anymore-she was tempted to kick him out for good. But then she remembered how he
kept bringing up their agreement, and her frustration grew stronger.
She was determined to shut him up for good, no matter what it took.
To her surprise, when she returned to Villa Heights, Dexter had arranged for a few chefs to cover and
prepare a big feast. There were various dishes on the table, including her favorite dessert-strawberry shortcake.

“Let's eat first,” Dexter said casually as he turned to look at her.
"Better than what she made, don't you think?" he asked, giving her a half-smile and a look that seemed to carry
a hidden meaning.
Angela was taken aback. If he hadn't brought it up, she would have almost forgotten about the incident that day
when Elena had cooked a feast and brought lunch for him.
She didn't understand why he had suddenly brought it up. Could he be trying to make amends? Was he trying to
distance himself from Elena?
She couldn't help but laugh at her ridiculous thoughts.
"Where's your ointment?" She quickly regained her composure and responded coldly, keeping her answer short
and straight to the point. “I'll have lunch at my office later.”
Dexter frowned. He instructed commandingly, “Sit down and eat. I've got something to tell you.”
"Spit it out,” Angela replied coldly, meeting his gaze with a challenging look.
Dexter becfurious. "Don't forget that we're not fully separated yet. You..."

"What is it? Are you going to bring up the agreement again? It's honestly pathetic that a grown man like you only
knows how to threaten others to get what you want.
"Tell me, what do you want from me? Are you really going to keep doing this? Even a three-year-old is more
mature than you. Is that the only trick you know?" Angela sneered coldly
She crossed her arms in front of her chest with a cold smile on her face, exuding a sense of superiority and

Dexter was taken aback, and his frustration intensified. He'd never known that Angela could be so sharp-
tongued.
“Letmake myself clear-I hate being threatened, I'll make sure to keep my promise, but if you keep using that
agreement to pusharound, | won't just back down anymore; I'll start fighting back."
Angela made her stance clear.
At that moment, the power dynamics between them seemed to have shifted.
Dexter didn't respond. His expression remained indifferent, and his cold demeanor remained unshaken.
Just then, the doorbell suddenly rang. Angela turned and walked to open the door. She was eager to step away
from the tense atmosphere in the living room.
