First Love 61°

Chapter 61

Angela nodded in acknowledgment.

"May," Dexter called out coldly.

A middle-aged woman with a slightly plump build quickly appeared from the kitchen. "Mr. Bamford, is there

something you need?"

“Get her something to eat,” Dexter said coldly.

The maid, May Weasley, was quick. In about 20 minutes, she returned with a bowl of pasta. There were also two

small plates of side dishes—one with meat and the other with vegetables.

Angela's stomach growled at the delicious aroma. She thanked May and began eating slowly.

Her eating style was somewhat unrefined, akin to a hamster nibbling on food. While she wasn't particularly

graceful, it was still pleasant enough to watch her eat.

Dexter observed her closely. Inexplicably, his irritation seemed to ease to sextent.

After finishing her meal, Angela stood up and said, “I have sthings to take care of tonight. It should be fine if

| cback tomorrow morning, right?”

She had only been dealing with Fiona earlier, so whether she stayed or left didn't matter

much.

"No," Dexter replied, suddenly displeased again. "You'll stay here tonight. You're not going anywhere without my

permission."

"Why?" Angela asked, her voice tinged with irritation.

He must have forgotten that they were divorced. She was only helping him keep it a secret and had no obligation

to do anything more.

"My mom's coming tomorrow," Dexter said, pushing down his frustration.

Yet, his frustration grew when he noticed Angela's disgruntled expression.

"I'll give you 10 thousand dollars a day. Stay here. That's final,” he said coldly.

Angela thought about it for a moment and decided it wasn't a big deal. Without the constraints of being Mrs.

Bamford, she could do as she pleased there.

That evening, she went back to her room to livestream her painting session. In high spirits, she chatted with her

fans and earned a fair amount in tips.

With a competition coming up in two weeks, Angela had already started her preparations..

She browsed through the entries that had won in previous years of the Golden Summit Awards, analyzed the

preferred design styles of the organizers, and shared her insights in the group chat for division one of the design

department. Feedback quickly poured in.

George texted, "Wow, Ms. Graham is working on the weekend. She's way more dedicated than us. Impressive!"

Alan replied, “Now | feel bad for slacking off. | need to get to work too!"

Clara chimed in, “Angela, can't we enjoy a bit of rest during the weekend? You're up so early and already

working-such dedication!"

The chat, which began professionally, soon turned into a lively thread of jokes and memes. “Nice,” can one-

worded message from an account with a plain white avatar.

The group fell silent for an entire minute.

It was Callum. How had he ended up in their

in their group chat?

Angela had almost forgotten that Callum was in the design department's group chat as were several of the

company's executives.

Sensing the awkward silence, she quickly responded, "Thank you for the encouragement, Mr. Snowden." There

was no further reply.

To ease the tension, she quickly created a new group, adding all the members from division one. She sent out a

small cash reward to liven up the mood. The group buzzed with excitement again.

"Wow, | can't believe someone as busy as Mr. Snowden would reply."

"That was unbelievable! I'm stunned."

“Alright, have a great weekend, everyone!"

Angela took a sip of her soy milk, a smile spreading across her face.

"Why are you smiling so early in the morning?" A cold voice suddenly cfrom behind

her.

Angela almost spat out her drink.

When she turned around, she saw Dexter standing there in casual loungewear, his face filled with displeasure.

His hair, which was usually neatly combed and styled, was now left to fall naturally. Though he still carried a

melancholic air, it made him appear more youthful and approachable.

Chapter 61

Angela didn't argue with him. "I'm just finishing up swork,” she replied sincerely. I'm almost done. Do you

needto change your bandages?"

After all, he was paying her 10 thousand dollars for the day.

"Work?" Dexter sneered. "You?"
