First Love 49
Chapter 49
“Angela, aren't you going to apologize to Mr. Hood?" Nora said coldly. Her tone was filled with reproach.
Angela's response was a sneer. “What now? Will we lose the deal if | don't drink this glass of wine?”
She felt a deep unease. The contract between the two companies had already been finalized by the higher- ups.
It was essentially a done deal. Her presence here was merely a formality.
Nora was clearly targeting her, using her as a pawn for Dave's amusement.
"Don't talk nonsense. I'm giving you one more chance. Apologize to Mr. Hood!" Nora suddenly stood up and
glared at Angela with icy eyes.
She had never encountered such a bold employee who dared to speak back to a superior like this. It was
outrageous.
"Why should I apologize?" Instead of being angry, Angela looked at Nora calmly and said, Ms. Rutherford, please
tellwhat I said or did wrong."
"ou."

she downed her glass in one go.
“At least you're sensible.” Dave snorted, hiding his displeasure.
Clara pushed Angela back into her seat, signaling her to hold back and avoid confrontation.
Clara and Nora were skilled at navigating such situations. Within minutes, the atmosphere lightened up again.
At that moment, the waiter brought colorful drinks and placed one in front of each person. Angela's was a pink
drink with a sweet, fruity scent that resembled a flavored wine.
Everyone raised their glasses again. Angela was careful this time. She deliberately picked up a glass of water
from the side and clinked it with the others.
But as soon as the water touched her lips, a strange taste lingered.
Angela instantly realized something was wrong.
She turned to glance at Clara, whose face was already flushed.
Just then, Dave leaned in again, grinning lewdly. “Ms. Graham, you're only making things worse with your
cleverness!"
His voice seemed to cfrom far off. It was distant and buzzing, making it
uncomfortable to hear.

Chapter 49
Angela couldn't care less now. She grabbed Clara's sleeve, signaling for them to leave quickly.
But before she could stand, Dave pressed heavily on her shoulder, forcing her back down. Then, he leaned in
closer. His foul breath of alcohol made Angela nearly gag.
"Ms. Graham, your body and face are absolutely irresistible. I've been curious to know what it's like to taste Mr.
Bamford's woman."
Dave smirked as his hand started to wander down Angela's back.
"Get off me!" Angela shoved him away with all her might, but it was as if she was hitting cotton. There was no
strength behind her push.
Laughter and whistles erupted from the crowd.
Angela's'sense of dread grew. In a desperate attempt to maintain control, she bit down hard on her tongue.
Summoning whatever strength she had left, she shot up from her seat and grabbed Clara's hand to drag her out
of the room.

room.
Dave's smile grew wider. He looked like a predator eyeing its prey.
But just as he was about to make his move, the door to the room was suddenly kicked open with great force.
The door slammed against the wall with a deafening crash and bounced back.
The noise shook Angela back to full awareness. She instinctively turned to the door.
A tall, slender figure approached against the light. That strikingly perfect face, almost as sculpted by the hands
of God, suddenly appeared before her eyes.
