Chapter 955: Poppy's Accident On their way back, Jared received a call from Hayden, saying there was an issue at the estate in the suburbs and that Jared should cto check it out.

Tina was driving since Jared had been drinking earlier that afternoon. She asked for the location, planning to drop him off there before heading back to the Pace family estate. Jared, however, didn't agree. The suburb was far, and more importantly, the place was being renovated as a surprise for Tina. If she saw it beforehand, the surprise would be ruined. In the end, Jared told Hayden to pick him up instead.

When Hayden arrived, he looked visibly annoyed, his face sullen, and dark circles under his eyes. He got out of the car and headed straight for the driver's side.

"Jared, you're doing this on purpose. Don't think for a second that-Serena!" Tina turned to look at him calmly.

Hayden swallowed hard, his earlier aggressive demeanor vanishing instantly. "Serena? How cit's you? I thought..." Jared was lazily reclining in the passenger seat, his eyes narrowed as he glanced over. "And if it were me? What would you do? Killon the spot?" Hayden froze, speechless.

Even if he had such a thought, he didn't have the ability to act on it. Besides, with Serena present, he wouldn't dare lift a finger. If he tried, Serena would probably ensure his ashes were put to good use. Hayden forced a laugh. "Haha, as if I'd dare." Tina smirked faintly. "Hayden, make sure you do your job well." Sure enough, being too nice to people only backfired.

Meanwhile, just a few hundred meters away from the Pace family estate, there was a commotion at an intersection. Cars and pedestrians were stuck in a traffic jam, and the scene appeared chaotic. Tina decided to turn around and take another route. But then, she heard voices from outside.

Kaleigh was startled by the sudden change in Kevin's tone. "What?" "I'm asking you-when did Poppy disappear?" This time, Kaleigh could feel Kevin's anger. At the hospital, Alina and Ruud arrived to find that Tina had already gone into the operating room with the lead surgeon.
