Suddenly, Blood Baby materializes out of nowhere, wrapping itself tightly around the chaotic black ball. I notice its body beginning to darken, but before I can react, Blood Baby drives a sharp tendril into my body, drawing my blood at an alarming rate. However, my blood armor sustains me, feedinga constant supply of blood to offset the drain.

In front of me, the black ball starts to shrink as Blood Baby compresses it further and further until it's no larger than a football. Then I glance at Ophelia, who still wears that mocking grin, tauntingsilently. With strong determination, I place my hands on the chaos ball, and with Blood Baby's assistance, I shift its trajectory, aiming it straight at her.

With a sudden roar, a surge of vampiric energy bursts from my body.

"Double Counter!" I bellow as the chaos ball hurtles toward Ophelia, swelling to twice its size. For the first time, fear flickers across Ophelia's face. She tries to brace herself, but it is too late. The massive ball slams into her chest, sending her flying backward with immense force.

Seeing the opening, I decide to press the attack before she can recover. First, I must counter her teleportation.

"Sanguine Dance: Fifth Step," I whisper. My body blurs into dancing motion, performing intricate footwork that nullifies her ability to teleportaway. Closing the distance, I land lightly on the ground and immediately leap back into the air, towering over her. She looks up at me, her composure faltering as I cup my hands together into a single, devastating fist.

Desperately, she tries to shield herself with the black miasma, but her earlier clash with the chaos ball left an opening.

BAAANG!

I drive my cupped fists into her stomach with such brutal force that the entire space quakes violently.

"ARRGHHH!" Ophelia's scream pierces the air as my attack connects, sending her plummeting into the ground with a deafening impact.

BAM!

BAM!

BAM!

Her body carves a massive crater, over twenty feet deep, and the ground continues to fracture and spread under the force. But I don't stop there. Hovering above the devastation, I summon Excalibur, its radiant blade shimmering with red energy.

"Transcendence God's Bane: Fifth Stage!" I roar, unleashing a surge of crimson energy that erupts from the sword, illuminating the sky in blood red color. A massive void tears open above, its overwhelming presence consuming everything in its path. With all my might, I swing Excalibur downward. The void crashes into the earth with a cataclysmic impact, obliterating everything in its wake.

PHOOOOSH!

When the dust settles, only destruction remains. The void has devoured everything, leaving behind a desolate expanse of ruin. For a moment, even I worry about Ophelia. Though she's stronger thanin raw power, however, close combat is her greatest weakness. Her reliance on long-range attacks leaves her vulnerable, and with Blood Baby's ability to counter her energy, the odds were never in her favor. As long as Blood Baby has a steady supply of blood, nothing can harm it—or me.

Once the wave settles, I survey the destruction around me. It's far worse than I imagined. Flying down, I land in front of a massive pit, smoke billowing upward in dense, suffocating plumes.

I pause, straining my eyes to sense Ophelia's life signature but there's nothing. Then my chest tightens.

"She can't die from that, right? She's supposed to be one of the strongest women alive," I mutter, stunned. Even as I grapple with the thought, my mind drifts to Zella. What would I even tell her if Ophelia didn't survive? Maybe I'd say her mother wanted to killthen I killed her instead. That might work. Tragic but kind of heroic. Of course, no system reward forif Ophelia doesn't apologize.

Lost in thought, I suddenly notice smovements. Something—or someone—is clawing its way up from the pit. My instincts instantly kick in, and I step back cautiously.

The old witch is alive…

Sure enough, Ophelia emerges from the scorched crater. Her appearance is… quite unsettling. Despite the devastation, her dress is perfectly intact, without a single tear or scorch mark on it. Her body shows no visible wounds either. The only evidence of the ordeal is her wild, disheveled hair, which now looks as though it's been struck by lightning.

Seeing her unarmed, I draw Excalibur without hesitation.

"Wait!" Ophelia cries out, raising a hand to stop me.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

"What now? You look unarmed, or is this another one of your tricks?" I ask, keeping my grip firm. I refuse to let my guard down in front of this crafty witch.

"I swear on my ancestors—you win," she says, her voice strained but sincere. "It might seem like I'm fine, but I took a lot of damage from that attack. My body just managed to heal itself. Was that… the legendary Transcendence God's Bane?" Her gaze shifts to my sword, a strange reverence lighting in her eyes.

I still stay wary, studying her closely. "Yes. I only used the fifth stage on you. Count yourself lucky," I reply, resting Excalibur on my shoulder. My words are confident, even arrogant, but internally, I'm still processing how she survived. Most gods can't endure even the second stage of God's Bane, yet she tanked the fifth and walked away with barely a scratch. Truly, she lives up to her reputation as one of the strongest women in the universe.

"It's magnificent," she murmurs, spitting out dirt from her mouth.

I narrow my eyes. "Do you regret it? All of it? Do you regret being a terrible mother? Your daughter doesn't even call you 'mother.' That's how far you've fallen. You treated her like a tool, and now you stand here, pathetic and alone." I shake my head and turn as if to leave, though inwardly I'm burning with anticipation. I need her to apologize. The reward is just too good to pass up.

"Wait," she says, her voice cracking. "I… I'm sorry for everything. For whatever happened between us. Everything I did was for the witches, our population is declining. I was following the prophecy of a great leader; a child born from my daughter and the reincarnation of the Protoss. I was so consumed by that goal that I didn't realize I was tearing everything apart. So, Prot—no, Jake—I need your help." She lowers her head deeply, a gesture of genuine remorse.

[The Host Has Completed The Mission: Defeat Ophelia And Make Her Apologize.]

[Reward will be distributed.]

Seeing the reward a grin spreads across my face. My eyes land back on Ophelia who is not shrouded by miasma. Then I realize she is actually not bad, she is a very beautiful woman.

A grin forms on my face. "If you want to make corrections, we can start from here," I say, walking towards her with a perverted grin.
