A so-called savior? The idea was downright laughable.
Did she ask him to save her? Or did he save her just to play the hero card? He had teamed up with Nova to steal her designs and let Nova call the cops-how could he have the nerve to call himself her savior after all that? "That's your version of it," Eliza said dismissively, turning her back to him as she lay down.
Casper was on the brink of losing it.
Dillon quickly intervened, "I'll get a nurse to change your dressing. Don't get worked up. You're still recovering." Casper's wounds were nearly healed. He'd transferred to this hospital solely because of the severe injuries he'd sustained for Eliza. And yet, she hadn't visited him once. No messages, no calls. It was like nothing had happened, and he couldn't stomach that.

That was what Casper really wanted. Everything he did was for Nova, his so-called true love.
"Casper," she said softly, her voice tinged with a somber tone.
His reply was irritated, "What now?" "Nova mentioned you've prepared the divorce papers. When can you give them to me? I'm ready to sign them ASAP," she said, hoping it would be sooner rather than later. "I don't want anything from you." Casper had already torn the divorce papers to shreds and thrown them away. He'd given up on the idea of divorce. How did Nova know about it? And why had she told Eliza? "Found a new suitor, have you? That's why you're in such a rush?" His tone was mocking. "You won't even helpchange a dressing, and yet you expectto give you that?" Eliza sat up abruptly. He was clearly making things difficult for her, acting like he was the one being wronged.
"I'll change your dressing, then you givethe divorce papers today. I'll sign them immediately." Eliza was desperate.
Casper looked at her leisurely, "We'll see how you do." Dillon cback with the nurse, "Mr. Casper, the nurse is here to change your dressing." "Leave the supplies. Mrs. Welton has graciously offered to help," Casper said, shooting a deliberate lookat Eliza "Mrs. Welton is doing this willingly, right?" Eliza hated Casper's mocking tone.
Biting her lip, she got out of bed and took the tray from the nurse. "I'll do it." The nurse said nothing and left the room.
Dillon started to say something, but a single look from Casper had him leave quietly.
The room was dimly lit. Casper was in his hospital gown, reclined with his hands behind his head, staring blatantly at Eliza. "Unbutton it," Eliza said as she approached him.
"You do it," he replied, looking at her without any restraint.

He could see the reluctance, disdain, and disgust on her face. "Mrs. Welton it seems you're not too keen," he chuckled teasingly. "Looks like a woman used to being served by men is unwilling to serve a man." elet
She said nothing, not wanting to argue with him. She reached out to ve upbutton his shirt, her slender fingers extra cautious, as if afraid to touch his skin.
Casper's Adam's apple moved slightly, his eyes darkening with m desire. Suddenly, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her close. Her eyes widened in panic as they locked onto his.
