Chapter 134~ Medical tests "Doctor Steve, how's my husband?" Lora asked anxiously, her eyes falling on Ryan who was lying on the bed in the VIP ward.
"Don't worry, Mrs Kingsley. He's alright, he just had a brief fainting episode since he hasn't had enough rest in the last forty-eight hours," Doctor Steve replied. "You did well to bring him here though... it could have been serious." Relief washed over Lora at the doctor's words and she let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. When Ryan lost consciousness in the restaurant, Lora called her security team for help to take him to the hospital. The moment they arrived, he was rushed to the ER and Lawrence informed Doctor Steve who cover to attend to Ryan. After a series of tests, Ryan was transferred to a VIP ward to be monitored.
"Thank you so much for the quick response, Doctor," Lora replied. "But, why isn't he waking up if he's ok?" "That's because he's sleeping," the doctor said.
"What?" Lora's eyes widened. She asked, "Are you sure, Doctor? He had passed out in my arms... how's that sleeping?" "He must have been stressed, now that he had talked to you about his situation, he must have felt relieved. Right now, your husband is in deep sleep," Doctor Steve affirmed. "He will wake up soon." "Does that mean he can chwithwhen he wakes up?" Lora asked hopefully.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtDoctor Steve nodded, saying, "Yes, he can. But I need to emphasise, Mrs Kingsley, that your husband's condition is critical. His blood counts are dangerously low and without treatment, his health will continue to deteriorate quickly." Lora swallowed hard, her stomach churning with fear and nerves. She glanced at the doctor and remarked, "I'm aware... we will do all we can to find a donor." Earlier while Ryan was in the ER, Lora had called her Uncle to ask if he could use his connections to look for a donor. She also asked him to look for the donor who had suddenly disappeared. Something felt off, why would someone who had already agreed to donate go missing without an explanation? "That's great... the hospital will keep looking as well. But I hope you stay by his side in this tough period, he might not say it but he needs physical and emotional support," the doctor advised.
"I'll never leave him, Doctor," Lora replied. She turned to look at Ryan who was sleeping peacefully on the bed and a small smile crossed her lips.
"I would like a test to check if I can donate my stem cells to him," Lora suggested.
"Normally, family members are the ones who are likely to be a match. But we can check with you too," the doctor said, looking impressed. "You're such a good wife. Mr Kingsley is lucky to have you." "Thank you for the kind words. Ryan's family will be here tomorrow for the tests. I'll make sure of it," Lora said. She was sure they wouldn't sit and watch Ryan die. Together, they would look for a solution for him to survive. "Great, you can cwith me," the doctor requested and led Lora to the examination room.
From there, he took out sblood cells from Lora's hip to test if she was a match for Ryan's stem cells. When he was done, he uttered, "The results will be out in a week. If you're a match, you would have to undergo other tests to check if you're healthy enough to donate-" "Why don't you do those tests now? Let's save tand do everything at once," Lora suggested.
The doctor nodded and replied, "That's a good idea... so that if you're a match, we won't waste ttrying to check if you can donate your stem cells to your husband. We can proceed with the treatment right away." Thus, Lora underwent a series of medical tests. She also left her urine and blood samples at the lab.
When she returned to the ward, Ryan opened his eyes and looked at her.
"You're awake?" She asked, her eyes gleaming with joy.
"Mrs Kingsley, where were you?" Ryan asked, a smile crossing his lips. "I was hoping to see you when I opened my eyes but you were nowhere to be seen. I missed you." "I went to have a test to see if I can donate my stem cells to you," Lora replied as she approached Ryan and lowered herself to give him a kiss on the lips. "I missed you more.
Ryan's eyes widened. "Baby, you're-" Q.UMS "If I'm a match, I will donate... I hope you won't try to stop me," Lora remarked, smiling at Ryan.

"Let's not think about spilt milk," Lora uttered. "But, I want you to promisesomething." "Anything," Ryan replied, squeezing Lora's hand.
Lora looked into his eyes and said, "No more secrets." Ryan pulled Lora close and wrapped his arms around her, saying, "I promise. No more secrets." Lora nodded as she hugged him back. "That's good... don't ever think you're a burden. You're my husband, the father of my children and my everything."
They stayed like that for stime, simply inhaling each other's scents and enjoying the warmth that spread between them. Even though they didn't know what the future held, being there for each other every step of the way was all that mattered.
"I want to be with you, Ryan... whether it's for a few hours, a day, or ten years, I want to spend my twith you," Lora remarked.
Ryan cupped her cheeks and pulled back slightly to kiss her deeply. His heart felt so full. He was grateful for Lora's love and he silently prayed for a miracle. When they pulled back, Lora looked at Ryan and said, "We need to go to the Kingsley mansion now. Your family has to know." Ryan sighed. "Grandpa has a heart condition-" "He still has to know, Ryan. Think about how he would feel if you kept this to yourself," Lora reasoned.
Ryan nodded reluctantly and replied, "Ok... Let's go and tell them." Meanwhile, in another part of town, a woman walked into the Williams' residence.
David Williams, Ivy Williams' father's eyes rounded when he saw her. He arched his eyebrows and asked, "What are you doing here?"
The woman smiled and said, "How about we join forces,to forces to finish Ryan Kingsley once and for all? Lethelp you avenge your daughter."
