Chapter 135 Should I Hold You?
The illness made Samara’s reaction a lot slower. She looked up at Roland in front of her. The sunlight
that came in just happened to shine on his face, giving him an inexplicable gentleness.
Roland saw that she was looking at him and did not move. He held a spoon and touched her lips.
Samara came back to her senses and opened her mouth, eating the spoonful of soup.
He was right, and it was not hot.
This cold was so abrupt that Samara felt very uncomfortable. She was still muddled. After opening her
mouth and drinking the soup that Roland fed her, she no longer acted sentimentally.
The room was very quiet. Neither of them spoke. Roland fed her soup with a spoon. It was not until the
bowl of soup was finished that Samara said, “Thank you.”
Probably because of the fever, Samara’s face was a little red. Her eyes were listless, which narrowed the distance between
them.
Roland clicked his tongue, raised his hand, and placed it on her head. He rubbed it. “There’s no need to
thank me. I’ll take you to the hospital.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtSamara was burning. Her entire body was hot. When his hand landed on her head, she could feel the
heat from his palm.
She drank a bowl of soup and regained some spirit. She stubbornly shook her head. “I’m not going to the
hospital. I’ve already bought a fever reducer online.”
As soon as she finished speaking, there was a knock on the door.
The one who knocked on the door was the delivery man. Roland threw the bag into the trash can. “You
are not a child. Why are
you afraid to go to the hospital?”
As he spoke, he suddenly leaned down, staring straight at Samara with a half–smile. “Should I hold you,
or do you want to behave and go to the hospital?”
The two of them looked at each other for a few seconds, and in the end, Samara was defeated.
Because her nose was stuffed too badly, tears came out of her eyes, and she instantly gave in.
“I’m going to get a coat.”
Roland stood up and smiled. He looked at her. “Go ahead.”
It was still cold in Chicago in March, and there were not many people in the hospital who had a cold.
When Samara and Roland arrived at the hospital, it was the hospital’s break time. Samara let out a sigh
of relief, “They’re
taking a break. I’ll be fine after I go back and take some pills.”
Her physical fitness had always been good. This time, she suddenly fell ill. It was most likely because
she had taken a bath last
night. When she came back to her senses, the water was already cold.
“Are you very afraid of seeing a doctor?” Roland turned to look at her.
“What’s there to be afraid of about a doctor?”
She covered her nose with a tissue, and her nose was so stuffy that she felt dizzy and uncomfortable.
“Oh.”
Roland smiled and responded. Then he called a number and took her to another consulting room.
The doctor was Roland’s friend. When he saw Samara, his eyes lit up. The two men looked at each other
and said nothing, but it seemed that they guessed everything.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe doctor retracted his gaze and looked at Samara. “Is Ms. Novak feeling unwell?”
“I have a cold, and my nose is stuffed. I have a fever…” Samara responded.
She looked at the doctor and whispered, “No need for an IV. I will be fine in a few days.”
When Roland heard this, the smile in his eyes deepened.
“There is no need for an IV. It will be fine in three days. If your fever still doesn’t subside, you’ll have to
get an IV.”
Samara nodded. She picked up the bag beside her. When she got up, she couldn’t stand still. She fell
into Roland’s arms.
Roland held her. When she stood up, he took the opportunity to hold Samara’s hand. “You don’t need an
IV. Are you afraid?”
Samara heard his teasing and tilted her head to look at him. “Aren’t you afraid of anything?”
He turned back to look at her with a meaningful look in his eyes. “Yes.”
still
Samara felt that the topic could not continue, so she answered with an “oh” in a muffled voice, and she
did not speak again.
