"How should we handle these thirty-four 10-Star Martial Saint monsters?" Alex squinted his eyes.
"Indeed. Not only do we need to handle those monsters, but there are also still three million waiting to be slaughtered. This will be a very long fight, spanning for at least a month." Anya nodded.
"Yeah. The problem is whether those 10-Star would come to us or stay in the back. If they come, it will be easy. If not, we need to pull them in or go there by ourselves." Alex nodded while scratching his head. This matter had been troubling him since a few years ago. He thought it was easy to kill those thirty-four monsters, but it was different if he took the three million into account.
"As expected, we should start fighting back. I am sure that because of the portal, they will realize that the connection to their original world has disappeared. They must be panicking right now." Anya fell into deep thought after giving an input.
"If that were the case, they will either search for a way to go back or slaughter us first before returning." Alex narrowed his eyes.
"Yes. We can then kill the monsters bit by bit, luring those 10-Star in and killing them one by one."
"In that case, we need to spread out."
"How?"
"Each of us only needs to focus on our respective 10-Star. Each 9-Star Spirits who can fight will take two 10-Star monsters. Those who are 10-Star will focus on one monster. I want you to pull them in and kill the monster as soon as possible so you can move to help the others or take on another one." Alex commanded.
With this, Leoz, Anna, and Jeanne would take one at a time while Jean, Nelson, Fabio, Vera, and Artur fought against two to hold them back. Anya was in charge of their support, and Greg was in charge of being her protector.
"I will also take two 10-Star. As much as I want to let others join, I will see the situation first. For now, focus on getting the lower level ones like 9-Star monsters. If the monsters are not a big deal, I will inform you guys, and you can fight against 10-Star as well." Alex glanced at Firia, Sherry and the others who had no chance to fight.
"We understand. You are sure a worrywart." Firia gently nodded and smiled.
"In total, we can fight fifteen 10-Star monsters at once. If we include the other leaders, we should be able to fight twenty-two monsters. We have no other choice other than letting the rest handle the other twelve if they move."
"Understood. How about our True Spirit Body?" Anna asked away her doubt.
"Don't use it for now, but you can immediately activate it when fighting the 10-Star. We have been saving this for an occasion like this, so you can go rampage. In the worst case, I can level up a few of you to 10-Star to fight against the monsters, but I hope we don't reach that step."
The group then started imagining what kind of battle they would have in their mind, seeing if Ale's plan was possible or not.
They ended up agreeing to his command.
"Letizia and Rose are staying on the back, alright?" Alex then glanced at the two girls that seemed to be left out. As much as he wanted to give them an important role, their strength had yet to reach that level, so he didn't want to send them to death.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThe latter also understood his concern and weren't stubborn with it. They simply nodded with a bitter expression.
"Let's go." Alex nodded and returned to the main area, finding Shakdi making a portal.
Shakdi glanced at him and said, "This is the portal that will send you back. Considering the situation has stabilized, I can spare more energy. Of course, there is also another thing that this tower can do."
"That is…"
"We can release a bit of Spiritual Energy we store from the Ancient Battlefield. This way, the disciples will have a good amount of supply of Spiritual Energy, allowing them to recover faster." Shakdi nodded.
"I see. It's a good idea to the point I might use it myself." Alex smiled. "Anyway, our priority is to kill those monsters."
"Yes. As much as we want to help you in this fight, we can't use our ability outside this tower or the World's Will will notice it and purge our souls." Shakdi shook his head in remorse.
"It's fine. We should be fine outside." Alex reassured him once more before glancing at the gate. "Then, can we leave now?"
"Yes. I know that you won't come back and you don't have any interest in our treasures… That's why…" Shakdi clasped his hand and bowed, followed by the other Gods and Goddesses. "Thank you for saving this world."
"It's true that I have no plan in returning to this place, but don't thank me yet. We haven't solved those monsters outside." Alex turned and started to walk toward the gate before glancing at them. "Well… Take care."
They smiled and closed their eyes, reminiscing how Alex saved them in the past. Whether it was the past him or the current him, both of them had their own charm that made one want to follow them. Sadly, they couldn't, due to their limitation.
Alex didn't think much about their feelings and went through the gate, finding himself teleported to outside the pillar.
The monsters were rushing to the tower from the horizon as if they were going berserk. Alex looked around and searched for a leader in this place.
"Alexander…"
Hearing someone's voice, he turned around and asked the person. "Former Patriarch Davi. What happened here?"
"I was about to ask you the same question."
"Ho? Is it related to me? No, it should be related to the pillar?"
"Yes. When the pillar shone, the monsters started to be restless as if they were angry over something. At that time, they began marching in a more reckless way to the point their 10-Star joined the war itself, leading them in the front." Davi let out a long sigh. "And I was about to go there myself to fight one of them."
"…" Alex fell into silence and nodded. "I will try to handle as many 10-Star Martial Saint monsters as possible. You can focus on your task and try to help my people when they are fighting those 10-Star monsters."
"I can command the disciples to surround them to let your group kill those monsters." Davi nodded.
"I will also inform the other influences before going to the battlefield." Alex then turned to Nelson and signaled him to go.
After receiving the order, Nelson vanished into thin air, going to talk face to face with other leaders.
Alex then glanced at the monsters and commanded. "Except Letizia, Rose, Anya, and Greg, spread out."
With a single command, all people except those four leaped toward somewhere.
Anya hit the ground with her staff a few times before a pair of white butterfly wings appeared on her back.
"True Spirit Body. Light Butterfly Spirit."
A light appeared in front of her chest before it flew toward Alex and the others, including those who went to another place.
Alex took another look at his cultivation and smiled. It might be due to the current progress of his cultivation, he sensed that his power didn't increase one star from Anya's power. Nonetheless, it was still 9-Star.
A bit farther from him, another mammoth was looking at their direction intensely. And it was a 10-Star monster instead of the previous 3-Star. Whether it was due to knowing that Alex murdered its kin or because of the fluctuation of Spiritual Energy Anya emitted, the mammoth pointed its trunk toward them and shot out a fireball.
"True Spirit Body. Fortress Form." Greg activated his True Spirit Body as well and stomped his shield to the ground.
A green barrier appeared out of thin air, receiving the fireball. It then stretched a bit before closing its entrance like a pouch. The fireball exploded, but not a single shock wave or heat felt on the battlefield because of the barrier.
"Kh!" Davi gritted his teeth, ready to charge.
Kai raised his hand to stop him and pointed it to the monster on the left. It was a 10-Star Leopard.
"You can handle that one. I will kill the mammoth and…" Alex glanced at the 10-Star next to the mammoth, a giant white snake. "That snake."
"Are… Are you sure?" Davi furrowed his eyebrows. He didn't mean to underestimate Alex, but even if he could skip-rank fight, it was hard to fight 10-Star monsters with his 8-Star strength. However, Alex simply shook his head and smiled. "Let me. Just clear the monsters around it, so I can fight both of them without any problem."
"I… Understand." Davi hesitated a bit before accepting Alex's request. "Men! Look at that mammoth and snake, give a way, so the Divine Slayer can slay them!"
The disciples were startled, but since most of them consisted of disciples from the Ancient Blue Family, they recognized this title and glanced at Alex. The moment they got a sight of him, a few leaders shouted in unison.
"Let's do this! Kill those bastards and let our Divine Slayer slaughter them!"
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Ooh!"
With that shout, the disciples were fired up.
"Alex. Your influence is so strong…" Anya smirked, teasing Alex.
"Hmph!" Alex snorted and shrugged. "Anyway, it's rude to not return their kindness, right?"
He lifted up his hand, summoning a giant array that he had been building until now. A spear appeared out of thin air as it flew as soon as it was formed.
"That is Sky Spear Array…" Davi sweatdropped. He remembered that Alex was an Array Master and thought, 'How? I know his identity, but he didn't use his array in the previous war. So, I couldn't understand why he decided to use it now.
'Did he think Fire God Clan and Snow White Mountain were too easy? Or he didn't practice such an array before?' Davi didn't know whether to call Alex a freak or a monster. He could do almost anything. If he showed that he could make weapons like Forging Masters, he might want to just go into seclusion until Alex left this world.
Alex, on the other hand, paid no heed and launched his Sky Spear Array toward the mammoth.
"Die!"
The spear flew at fast speed.
"!!!" The mammoth widened its eyes, never expecting to find such a powerful attack from the get-go. He quickly tilted his head and struck the spear with his tusk, creating a powerful shock wave to their surroundings.
The clash lasted for a few seconds before the tusk destroyed the spear. Yet, the mammoth couldn't say he managed to stop Alex's attack completely because blood started dripping on its tusk. It seemed the gum connecting the tusk was slightly dislocated.
Alex didn't stop there and waved his sword toward the white snake near the mammoth.
"Mythical Fire Slash!"
Three Sword Waves flew to the snake, cutting all monsters in its way.
The snake spat out poison toward the attack, trying to melt it, but Alex's Pure Fire burned the poison almost immediately.
Because of this, the snake bit the Sword Waves to stop it. Yet, Alex's Pure Fire still influenced the attack, burning a bit of its fangs and melting those sharp fangs into a bit dull.
Davi thought he was just flaunting his prowess, but he realized it wasn't the case. He exclaimed inwardly, 'He… He is planning to take on these two… He was completely serious when saying those words earlier! Since this is the case, I should also kill my enemy so as to not let an 8-Star hog all the glory, making me an embarrassment in the eyes of others.'
Davi leaped toward his own enemy.
Alex found this and smiled. He floated above numerous disciples from the Ancient Blue Family, glaring at the two monsters as he raised his hands. "Come!"
Just like how Davi thought, the two were provoked and charged at him.
*Roar!*
