Chapter 218 Messages sent into the void, Hamilton sat in his office, halfway listening to the new marketing manager pitch the summer campaign. Mid-sentence, frustration took over; he tossed the proposal across the room. "Take it back, redo it. Do you even grasp the thof this summer's market? Have you done your research? If not, maybe take a page from your predecessor's book." The marketing manager hastily agreed, scooping up the documents and exiting the office.
Hamilton's gaze lingered on his phone on the desk. It took him a moment before he finally picked it up, his heart sinking a bit as he read Natalia's two messages. Thankfulness, it seemed, was all that remained between them. Without it, she probably wouldn't even bother replying.
After a brief pause, he texted back, "No worries, it's all sorted now." Natalia, on receiving his message, paused, then set her phone aside without a response.
The next day, Natalia arrived early at the golf course where she and Greysen had planned to meet.

Seeing Greysen, Natalia was slightly taken aback. Greysen, catching sight of Natalia, complimented, "Ms. Jenkins, you're even more stunning in person than in photos." He had researched her during the Gideon incident but hadn't thought much of her pictures then. Now, seeing her in person, he had to admit, Hamilton had good taste. Even in her simple sports attire, she radiated beauty. "Shall we have a round? We can talk as we play," Greysen suggested, gesturing with his golf club.
"Lead the way, Mr. Brown," Natalia smiled, accepting his offer.
"Ladies first." Natalia took her shot, elegant and precise. Greysen noticed, "Ms. Jenkins, you have a habit similar to Mr. Fowler's when you play." She smiled, "Mr. Brown, you have a keen eye. Mr. Fowler taughthow to play." Her heart tightened at the mention of Hamilton's name.
Greysen laughed, "No wonder. It seems the two of you are quite close. He even used his rare resources to trade withfor that NorthSuburb property for your sake." Natalia was momentarily stunned, "What do you mean, Mr. Brown?" As they moved to the golf cart, Greysen shared, "Gideon deserved it, but he's still part of my family. Hamilton could've just scolded him, but he chose to trade 20% of Ivy Gemstone's profits for Gideon's mistake. That's how this meeting cto be. Hamilton knows his business; he knew what I wanted more." Natalia was speechless, contemplating the lengths Hamilton had gone for her.
"Ms. Jenkins?" Greysen's voice pulled her from her thoughts.
"A bit forward, but may I ask what Hamilton traded for your sake?" she ventured.
Greysen's eyes twinkled, "Perhaps, it's best you ask Mr. Fowler directly." Their gended near lunch, and Greysen invited Natalia to dine with him. The meal was pleasant, with Greysen playing the perfect host. As they wrapped up, Natalia unexpectedly said, "Mr. Brown, I've decided not to pursue the North Suburb property." Greysen was visibly amused, "Are you sure, Ms. Jenkins?" She confirmed, realizing there were other ways to achieve her goals without compromising Hamilton's efforts. Greysen, though disappointed, raised his glass, "Then, let's consider this meeting the start of a new friendship." Natalia, feeling a bit guilty for the inconvenience, toasted, "Sorry for the trouble, Mr. Brown." His reply was charming, "Meeting a beauty like you, Ms. Jenkins, is never a waste of time." As Natalia drove away, her thoughts wandered to the complexities of her relationship with Hamilton, especially concerning the Gideon incident, which had strained their connection even further.
Hamilton had always been a man of mystery to her, never sharing the depths of his actions with anyone. Even the fact that he had risked his life for Gideon was something Natalia learned from Alden, not Hamilton himself.

Natalia couldn't quite pinpoint the feeling swirling inside her a blend of relief, gratitude, and an unnameable a emotion. It was as if the raw, aching wound in her heart had started to heal, ever so slightly. Seeing her lost in thought, Killian couldn't help but ask, "Ms. Jenkins, is the deal not going as planned?" Natalia snapped back to reality, shaking her head.
"No, it's going smoothly."
She knew if she asked, Greysen would lay the world at her feet, including the piece of land Ron Group O coveted. But accepting such a gift would bind her in ways she wasn't ready for. So, she chose to refuse.
Taking out her phone, she sent a simple "Thank you" to Hamilton, for everything-Gideon's issue and today's events. Killian looked puzzled. "If things went well, why the long face?" Natalia offered a small smile but didn't elaborate.
After seeing Natalia off, Greysen retreated to a private room where Hamilton stood by the window.
