Chapter 59
Dalla was shaking like a leaf, fresh out of the loo, with Mia leading her to the staff room to change.
Mia had a thing for Samuel While Dalla was getting changed, Mia mentioned spotting Samuel, along
with Luis from Synthetech Industries, and Maja, who had bumped into her. Dalia had a major beef with
Maja. Seeing the bracelet on Mia’s wrist, she got an Idea.
Dalia swiped Mia’s bracelet. When Mia noticed it had gone walkabout, Dalla swiftly piped up, “Perhaps
it got nicked when you were bumped earller?”
That set Mia thinking of Maja and she started looking for her.
Mia didn’t feel she’d done anything wrong, if anything, she had an even bigger chip on her shoulder
about Maja. If Maja hadn’t stolen it, wouldn’t she be the one in the hot seat? Her crush was there,
losing face in front of him was worse than death So, when Dalla started talking, Mia chimed in.
“Exactly! No way! She’s the one who nicked It, I saw it with my own eyes. Plus, she was standing in a
blind spot, no way the cameras caught that! She’s just trying to buy time!” The headmaster wanted
them to go, but Mia and Dalia were having none of it, leaving the security guards in a pickle.
The headmaster shot a helpless glance towards lan, “Mr. Raymond, what do you think…”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtlan was deadpan, unimpressed with the headmaster’s spinelessness. “Jeff, you go.”
His tone was flat eyes cold.
The headmaster didn’t dare dawdle, he ordered the security guards, “Take him along.”
Maja found the headmaster’s flip–flopping amusing, a smirk playing on her lips. She didn’t laugh,
though, solstice college was her alma mater after all.
The headmaster had only gotten his position by being a yes–man.
If he kept his seat, there would only be more students misunderstood like her, so showing the Investors
his true colors wasn’t a bad thing.
There were a few sofas in the middle of the exhibition, where waitstaff provided tea:
lan headed for the sofas, apparently planning to wait for the results himself.
Maja knew lan wasn’t standing up for her. As the biggest investor in Solstice College, he wouldn’t let
the headmaster embarrass him.
He was a businessman, concerned about whether this deal met his expectations.
After he left, Connie came over, worried about Maja being bullied here, and dragged her along behind
lan.
Maja was a bit helpless but didn’t have the heart to refuse, after all, Connie meant well
Connie got Maja seated next to lan.
Maja couldn’t help but notice lan’s emotional change, but she wasn’t sure If It was because of her.
The headmaster and the others around were all feeling awkward. They just stood there, at a loss for
what to do.
The headmaster didn’t want to piss Mia off, so he could only pass the buck to Dalla, “Look what you’ve
done! She’s just an ordinary person, what are you picking on her for?” Dalia’s face turned sour. She
had just become the director, If this brought negative attention to the school, she might get the boot.
She’d worked hard for so many years, how could this…
She gritted her teeth, glaring at Maja.
Mia noticed her gaze and quickly tried to comfort her, “Don’t worry, the cops and Ql assistant are
checking the CCTV footage, let’s see that shameless person try to gloat then!” Dalla’s lips started to
tremble, she was having second thoughts about what she’d done.
What should she do?
Wait!
There were no cameras in the staff room, even if Maja hadn’t stolen the bracelet, there was no way to
prove she hadn’t taken it on purpose. With that realization, Dalla breathed a sigh of relief. She sneered,

Maja seemed oblivious to the current mood, turning to lan, “Mr. Raymond, did you look over the
proposals from yesterday?”
lan didn’t even glance at her, replied nonchalantly, “If you have any Ideas, just go ahead and Implement
them, no need to discuss it with me.”
His meaning was clear, he hadn’t looked over them yet.
Discussing proposals with the employer was a basic part of the job, how could she just go ahead and
Implement them?
But lan’s intentions were clear, he didn’t want to engage with her, so she kept quiet.
When Jeff brought out the CCTV footage, the cops had already arrived.
Jeff stood in front of lan, bowed respectfully, “Sir, I’ve checked it. Mia’s bracelet was still on her wrist
after she bumped Into Ms. Penny. It was still there until she entered the staff room, probably got lost in
there.” With that, lan’s gaze turned to Mia.
Mia frowned, “Are you sure? I thought she stole it.”
Jeff nodded, “The CCTV footage is clear, that’s what happened.”
Although Mia was bitter, she had to face the music for now, she’d deal with this woman after this
incident blew over.
“I want her to apologize to me, that’s right, she talked to me in a bad manner, and said bad things about
me.”
