The next two days passed by in a blur.
| hadn't said a word to Thane, but he always visited. A part offelt guilty for putting the blon him, but the
other part wouldn't let go of the pain he had caused. He might have been trying to protect me, but he did it so
brutally | was left broken.
The hunger lingered. No matter how much | ate, there was still that thirst, and food alone couldn't satisfy it.
My stomach was significantly bigger, | had stopped watching it as it only freakedout.
When Thane and Axel walked in this time, they were accompanied by Nick and the... sorceress. She looked much
the same, only that this tshe had managed to put on a slightly better outfit; the gown seemed washed and
old-fashioned, and a hat had been placed firmly on her head, shielding her face.
“I cas soon as | could,” Nick says to Thane, and then he walks towards me. “It’s growing really fast,” he
noted.
“Nick... I don’t know what is happening to me. This thirst for blood never fades away,” | say to him; he must
have seen the panic in my eyes.
“The thirst is controllable most times. | hardly ever need blood.”
“Then why is it different in my case? | don’t want to hurt anybody.”

“It’s because of what is in you.” The sorceress spoke for the first time. She walked towards me, and | could see
Thane grow alert. He didn’t like her and clearly didn’t appreciate how close she drew towards me.
“It is a child,” | say to her.
“No,” she said with a shake of her head. “Not a child, something more dangerous. How would you have a child
without any form of sexual intercourse?” she questioned.
“I don’t know.”
“But you do,” she insisted, and | furrowed my brow at her. “It is rare, and it has only happened three times
throughout history’s record, but when a turned one with very powerful blood shares his blood with another, ‘this’
could be the result. A demon growth.”
“What?” | and Nick asked in unison. That didn’t make any sense.
“You never toldabout that,” Nick said, angry now.
“You never informedthat the ritual did work; | had already marked it as a failed attempt. Still, this is a rare
happening, but of course, the rarity had to happen to you,” She said,

pointing a crooked finger at me.
“You fed her your blood?” Thane questioned, his eyes switching from their usual color to pure black, and Nick
backed away.
“Guys stop!” | called out, and Thane’s intense gaze finally lifted from Nick.
“Sorry,” he muttered to me, | nodded.
“You had been wondering why your thirst for blood is so strong, and that is the reason. A turned one is only part
demon, so you don’t necessarily need blood to survive, though it would always look appealing. But a demon can
only live on blood alone, and that is what is in there,” she says, her hand resting over my stomach.
My stare met Nick. He never toldanything about this earlier.
