The more Alyssa thought about it, the more she felt that she was right.

If it was anyone else who said that they did not find out, Alyssa would also believe it. But it was

impossible for Emmett to not find out.

Emmett’s confidence came from his bones.

Alyssa had been thinking about this all day.

know when young master will be back.”

Emmett would definitely be very busy on the first day he went to the Lawrence Group. This was very

normal.

She waited for a while longer. When she saw that Emmett was not back yet, Alyssa prepared to call

him.

Alyssa picked up the phone and asked him, “When are you coming back?”

“I just finished a meeting. I might be back very late tonight. Go to sleep first. Don’t wait for me.” Emmett

fatigue.

As soon as the meeting ended, he immediately called Alyssa.

Although she and Emmett had not gone to work together recently, they had gone out together in the

morning and came home at night.

She ate and went back to her room. She held the computer and wrote a script.

While writing, she kept an eye out for the sound of cars outside.

However, she was too tired after working all day. Not long after, she fell asleep leaning against the bed.

When Emmett came back, he saw this scene.

The room was very warm. Emmett walked into the bedroom and saw Alyssa leaning against the bed

and sleeping with her head tilted.

Her hands were still on the keyboard of her notebook. Her hair was curled up and her long hair was

scattered.

Emmett walked over quietly and reached out to pull out the computer under Alyssa’s hands.

Although his movements were very light, Alyssa was sleeping too lightly and was still woken up.

Alyssa opened her hazy sleeping eyes and was not very awake yet. She looked at the person in front

of her and said in a daze, “You are back?”

Her eyes were misty and she leaned against the bed and slept for too long with her head tilted. She

moved and her entire body tilted to the side and was about to fall on the bed.

Emmett quickly reached out and held her head. His other hand wrapped around her waist to let her

sleep. His voice was low. “Yes, go to sleep.”

Alyssa heard him and really went back to sleep in a daze.

From the time she laid back on the bed to the time she fell asleep, it was only ten seconds.

Emmett looked at her peaceful sleeping face and was stunned for a moment. He could not help but

reach out to pinch her nose and muttered, “My sleepyhead.”

He went to the bathroom to wash up and came back to bed. Alyssa, who had fallen asleep, seemed to

have consciousness and automatically burrowed into Emmett’s arms.

Emmett saw this and his eyes were gentle. He held her firmly in his arms and soon fell asleep.

When Alyssa opened her eyes, she subconsciously reached out her hand to feel beside her.

In the end, her side was empty.

Emmett was not there.

She immediately rolled over from the bed and sat up.

Emmett didn’t come back last night?

That’s not right. He seemed to have come back.

Alyssa turned her head and looked at the laptop on the sofa.

She remembered that Emmett had come back last night and helped her keep the laptop.

But where was he? Could he have left again?

Alyssa rolled off the bed, grabbed a coat and put it on. She then ran downstairs in her slippers.

When she ran to the stairs, she saw Emmett walking out of the door dressed in formal attire.

She called out, “Emmett?”

Emmett turned his head when he heard her. He only took a glance and frowned slightly. “Go back and

change your clothes. I’ll go to the company first.”

“Okay.” Alyssa subconsciously replied. She saw Emmett turn around and walk out.

She opened her mouth but did not say anything in the end.

Only when Emmett disappeared did she tighten her coat and go back to the bedroom to change.

Emmett began to be very busy.

He was so busy that he did not even have time to eat with Alyssa. It was often when she woke up in

the morning that he had already left or was about to leave.

When she came back in the evening, Emmett was still working overtime at the company. When he

came back, Alyssa either slept or had already woken up.

Just like that, a week passed.

Alyssa thought that Emmett would have to take a day off on weekends. However, she woke up early on

the weekend and saw that Emmett had changed into a suit. He looked very imposing and energetic.

Emmett seemed to have an endless amount of energy. He had been so busy for a week, but he still

looked so energetic.

Alyssa picked up her phone. Through the screen, she saw her exhausted face.

She worked later than Emmett and got off work earlier than Emmett, but she looked even more tired

than Emmett.

If she had not spent so much time with him, she would have suspected that Emmett was not a human.

“I’m going to the company now. You can sleep a little longer.” Emmett heard the noise and turned back

to look at her. He lowered his head and adjusted his sleeves.

Today’s cuff links seemed to be against him. No matter how he buttoned it, he could not button it.

Alyssa lifted the blanket and sat up. Her voice was soft and hazy, as if she had just woken up. “Come

here.”

Emmett walked over and sat beside the bed. He stretched his sleeves in front of Alyssa and passed the

cuff links to her.

He looked down and saw Alyssa’s slender white fingers pinching his dark shirt sleeve. After she helped

him put on the cuff links, she even helped him tidy up his suit jacket.

His throat moved slightly and he lowered his head to kiss Alyssa’s forehead. “It’s almost the new year. I

should be able to relax after a while.”

Alyssa was silent for a moment and asked him, “Is there so much to do in the Lawrence Group?”

“Yes, there are a lot of things.” Emmett’s voice had a rare trace of fatigue.

Both of them fell silent.

Alyssa seemed to have thought of something and said, “Do you know that Dylan is back?”

Emmett’s expression was slightly sluggish. He narrowed his eyes slightly and asked, “When did he

come back?”

“He has been back for a few days and he even said that he wants to eat with us.” This was indeed what

Alyssa wanted to tell Emmett.

Emmett thought for a moment and said, “I will get off work early tomorrow and ask brother to go to

Golden Fountain for dinner.”

“Yes.” Alyssa nodded and a flash of joy appeared in her eyes.

She could finally have a meal with Emmett!
