Nina was startled by his actions.
"What are you trying to do?" Nina asked, pressing against his chest.
Wilfred's eyes were dark and cold. "Aren't you afraid of the danger of barging into a strange man's room?" Nina replied, "We've known each other for a while now." "Do you really know who I am?" Wilfred challenged.
Nina looked at him fearlessly. "Do you dare? "Even if I don't know everything about you, do you really dare to do anything to me?" Nina moved closer, completely unafraid of his threats.
Wilfred's expression grew more complex.

Nina had guessed correctly that he was only trying to intimidate her with words. If he had wanted to harm her, he wouldn't have saved her in the first place.
Wilfred stood up from the sofa, a hint of helplessness in his eyes. "You're right. No matter what, I can't hurt you." Nina also stood up. "Scarlett didn't try to killthat day." Wilfred said, "Don't concern yourself with that." "I don't want to be involved," Nina continued. "I only have fragmented memories, but I know that you, Scarlett, and I have met before. No matter what our positions were, I've made it out. Can't you both do the same?" Nina felt that Wilfred and Scarlett were no different from her. They had both been in difficult situations.
Wilfred looked at her and said, "You're not like us." "Why not?" Wilfred stood up. "Enough. You should leave." He was becoming distant. He could not drag her into his problems.
Nina looked at his injuries, then at his hand, and asked, "What happened to the beads you used to wear on your hand?" Wilfred replied, "I put them away." He did not wear them every day, and now was definitely not the time. His hands were stained with blood but the beads had always remained clean.
им Nina did not push further and said lightly, "I've been having bad luck lately. I think I should go pray.
"Anyway, when you're ready to be honest with me, you can tellanytime." With that, she stood up. But a wave of dizziness hit her, and she swayed.
Wilfred immediately caught her, holding her hand.
At that moment, he noticed faint bruises on her arm, so light they were barely visible.
His eyes widened in shock as he looked up at her.
Nina's face was pale. She pulled her hand away from him. "Take care of yourself." She nodded to him and left his room.
Wilfred stayed silent, his lips tightly pressed together, but his eyes were filled with complex emotions.

Nina sent the documents to the chief editor.
Before leaving, she glanced at Wilfred's door. Despite her worries, she could not get through his silence.
As she was about to leave, Wilfred's door opened again.
This time, Wilfred's face was even paler, his lips almost bloodless. He raised his hand and handed the beads to Nina. "Take this. It'll keep you safe." Nina said, "Isn't this very important to you?" "It belongs to you now." Wilfred's face was solemn. "It's more useful for you."
He directly placed the beads in Nina's hand. "Wear it. Just wear it on your e wrist". Nina was confused but noticed the beads had a faint sandalwood scent.
After making sure everything was clear, Wilfred went back into his place and closed the door tightly. Nina did not say anything further.
