Chapter 2650 - Go All Out
Despite Wudi being more of the careless, haphazard sort, he didn't miss any of those details. "Hell! Are they really using these infants to extend their lives? Destroying a million of them caused them to age six to seven years." Though he had been despairing at the thought of his death, he finally saw a ray of hope. It was clear to him that the aging process was by no means a good thing for the rex mundi pair. "What kind of seven-year-old has wrinkles? It's clear they're using these tanks to stay alive."
Why would they have dared to take the coffin inside if the tanks were so important to them? They had truly underestimated how much trouble the coffin could cause. Their common understanding of what a cosmic artifact should be capable of had failed them. They had thought that a newborn astral god could do nothing but defend against their inevitable attempts to end his life. They definitely hadn't expected the process to take so long, which gave Wudi an opportunity.

Despite only using the coffin as a glorified brick, it was more than sufficient for his purposes. The tanks were as tough as sanctuary-class cosmic artifacts, so normal cosmic artifacts wouldn't be able to break them. However, they didn't stand a chance before the mass of the Flameyellow Coffin. "Break, all of you!"
The coffin crashed into the tanks with a loud boom. The slightest sway of the coffin caused tens of thousands of tanks to shatter. Wudi heard more and more shrieks that sounded like tree branches scraping against one another. The couple were no longer tiny infants and their faces were so pale that they seemed diseased. Their mouths were opened so wide that it seemed to contort their faces. As they shrieked, the power of their divine wonders surged. The ephemeral world and eightpart apparition wonders enveloped the entire Flameyellow Coffin and pressed down on it with magnificent force, holding it in place! Previously, they had used their divine wonders solely for prying open the lid, but now they were forced to divert it to keep Wudi from wrecking more tanks.
It was a clash of forces. Though Wudi borrowed energy from the Flameyellow Guard Formation, he was still at a disadvantage. The only good news was that they seemed to have less energy to spare on prying the coffin open. "Looks like they get weaker as they age! With their divine wonders concentrated here, the flameyellow fiends will stand a chance, right?"
Wudi didn't give up. He willed the eight hundred thousand fiends to keep assaulting the ship from the outside. The fiends and Ninedragon Imperial Tomb were able to deal damage to it with the divine wonders otherwise occupied. Unlike its spear form, the Dreamchild's ghost form seemed even more susceptible to attacks. It shook and cracked from the rampage outside, causing the rex mundi couple to slightly lose their footing.
"Keep going!" Wudi tried to move the coffin as he willed the flameyellow fiends to attack, constantly on the lookout for an opening. At least for now, he was safe from the two of them. He grit his teeth and yelled as they continued pushing him down again so they could try to pry the coffin open.
"The pressure’s mounting outside."
"We can't afford to care—just focus on the coffin."
The two of them had witnessed the power of the coffin and couldn't afford to ignore it. They were desperate to keep it pinned down. Sweat streamed down their bodies from the sheer effort they put in. The origin of this chapter's debut can be traced to N0v3l-B(j)n.
"Their divine wonders do seem weaker!" Wudi's eyes brightened. At the very least, he had managed to achieve a stalemate against them, which was a miracle in its own right.
"Godfather? How are you faring?" Tianming charged the tail of the tomb with nova source and slammed it against the white ghost, cracking its divine astralship formation even more and sending it spinning away.

"Infant tanks? Of course! How could Meng Ying still be so powerful despite their age? But precisely what are they doing? How are they managing to draw out the lifeforce of infants?" Xiaodao said, shocked.
"Who cares? I only need to know that they'll die once we destroy the tanks!" Wudi said.
"Can you do it?" Tianming asked.
"It's tough! Those two old fucks are trying to open my coffin. They have me pinned down."
"Then what’re you boasting for?" Tianming was speechless. After the attacks he had launched, he was troubled to discover that the best they could do was delay and hold off the Dreamchild without causing any fundamental damage. Nobody knew whether Wudi could hold on long enough to destroy more tanks. Now that Meng Ying had been alerted, there was little chance that Wudi would get his way.
"What do we have to do to win? What can we do instead of waiting for fate to decide?" Tianming felt like he was being roasted alive. Every second that passed was a second wasted. The Gladean Ruins was engaged in combat, while those from the Infinitum Swordsea could break into combat in the middle of their voyage. Yet those paled in comparison to the threat the Dreamchild posed!
"Even though the situation’s stable for now, our hope will only continue dwindling if the stalemate continues." Tianming furrowed his brow. From the sound of Wudi's voice, the situation seemed dire. There was little chance that he would get another opportunity to destroy their tanks. Tianming's heart beat faster and faster. He looked at the new ether-class world from his ship and saw the hope the countless people below had for him.
"Argh, I'll have to go all out!" Tianming finally resolved to give it his all. He had to live up to all their hopes. Wudi had taken more than enough risk himself, now it was time for him to do his part. "The eight hundred thousand flameyellow fiends and my ship aren't able to do much to stop the Dreamchild. We’ll be better off attacking from a different angle! Since I can't fight the rex mundi with my power alone, I have to count on divine astralships!"
