As if it was a fairy tail, Natasha turned out to be the granddaughter of the Duke of Lachshire. Her newfound identity

commanded respect, as Natasha effortlessly overshadowed Lana.

For a moment, Lana couldn't shake the feeling of inferiority. However, realizing that such an outstanding woman

had chosen Dustin, Lana felt reassured in her judgment.

"Honestly, it caught me off guard because I didn't know she was the Duke of Lachshire's granddaughter when I first

met her," Dustin shrugged.

"So, you lucked out big time?" Lana teased.

"Something along those lines." Dustin chuckled without explicitly confirming or denying it.

"Cheers to you two and a whole life of happiness!" Lana raised her beer, clinked it with Dustin's, and then downed it

in one go.

The two continued their conversation over drinks, feeling even more at ease without the complexities of a romantic

relationship.

Lana had tucked away her feelings for Dustin deep in her heart. In the grand scheme of life, regrets were

inevitable.

Having a crush on someone didn't mean you had to claim them as your own. Being friends, sharing a drink and

conversation from time to time—now, wasn't that nice?

As the night wore on, after a few more beers, Dustin decided to call it a night. Lana watched him drive away.

Lana stretched lazily on the bed and gazed at the ceiling. There were still some lingering attachments in her heart.

Suddenly, her phone rang. Lana picked it up and saw it was a call from her uncle, Corey Camron.

"Hello, Uncle Corey, it's already late. Can't it wait until tomorrow?" Lana lazily asked.

"Lana, there's an urgent matter at home. Hurry back!" The voice on the other end sounded tense.

"What happened?" Lana was curious.

"It's hard to explain over the phone. You'll know when you get here." The voice urged her.

"Alright, I'll be there in a while." After hanging up, Lana didn't dare to delay.

She changed into another set of clothes and immediately left.

Thirty minutes later, Lana pulled up to Camron Manor. The place was pretty big, and it housed some key family

members. Usually, family get-togethers and meetings took place here.

But a late-night meeting like this was rare.

Lana stepped out of the car and headed toward the meeting hall with familiarity. The hall was well-lit, and the key

members of the Camron family were seated, and the air was tense.

Behind them, a line of bodyguards in suits and sunglasses stood, their waists bulging, indicating concealed

weapons.

"Uncle Corey, I'm here. What's the urgent matter?" Lana walked in easily.

However, the peculiar atmosphere in the meeting hall, especially the presence of unfamiliar bodyguards,

immediately set off her alarms.

"Uncle Corey, what's—" Lana was about to ask when a cold gun abruptly pressed against the back of her head.
