Chapter 456

Mackenzie suggested, “How about becoming a driver? If you excel in the role,
I can promote you to the captain of the driver team.”
This was actually her offering him preferential treatment. As the CEO for
many years, she had always been fair and never showed favoritism.
“I would still prefer to seek opportunities outside on my own.” Emmanuel
déclined once again. He was not exactly sure why he refused, perhaps not wanting people to speculate about his
relationship with Mackenzie.
“Alright then, suit yourself.” Mackenzie did not insist. Although their marriage’
was known to some, it had never been publicly announced. If Emmanuel
were to officially join the Terence Group, it would eventually become common knowledge.
After Mackenzie left, Emmanuel decided to visit the bank first and check the
balance on the bank card given to him by Commander Stevenson. It was likely to be a substantial amount.
He was well aware that he might suddenly become a billionaire. Perhaps that

Soon, Emmanuel arrived at the Onza District Commercial City where there
was an exclusive branch of Longine Bank. The gold card given to him by
Commander Stevenson was the prestigious Longine VIP Card of this
international bank.
Longine Bank not only held a prominent position among the country’s banks
but also ranked first globally in terms of assets. It boasted top-tier electronic
systems, financial services, and security systems worldwide.
The bank categorized its customers based on card types, each with different
entry requirements. The high-level client section was designated for
individuals like Emmanuel, and the bank catered to both regular customers
and high-level clients.
The people who frequented this section were undoubtedly from the upper class of society. Everyone was
impeccably dressed, as if attending a grand event. In contrast, Emmanuel appeared noticeably shabby and out of
place among these well-dressed individuals. Soon after entering, he became the
center of attention, as if an alien had intruded into a gathering of swans.

Emmanuel did not care about the stares and took a number, waiting in line.
Suddenly, he heard a surprised voice from behind. “Emmanuel? What brings
you here?” He turned around and was equally surprised to see two women in
front of him.
One was his long-lost 18th blind date, Milani. The other was surprisingly
Tommy’s kindergarten teacher, Tia.
Emmanuel did not know that the two of them were actually classmates and
had been desk mates in high school. They had a good relationship and could
be considered close friends.
Milani had been hanging out in Onza for a while. Today, she deliberately
came to the commercial city with Tia to show off, pretending to come to the exclusive Longine Bank to withdraw
money.
In the minds of many people, especially women, Longine Bank was like a fighter jet among banks, and being able to
visit such a place inexplicably gave them a sense of superiority. Seeing her 18th blind date here, she could
not hide her astonishment. Isn’t he supposed to be a failed gold digger,

“Ms. Zimmerman, I’m not related to you in any way. Do I need to report to you
or explain where I am?” Emmanuel understood her gaze and replied casually,
making the other party frustrated.
“You-” Milani really wanted to curse, but she held herself back.
However, she realized that cursing someone in a place like this would make
her appear crude. She had been trying to maintain an elegant demeanor in
front of Tia, and ruining it in an instant was out of the question. So, after
regaining her composure, she devised a plan.
But Emmanuel did not pay attention to what she was thinking. He nodded to
Tia and continued waiting.
To Emmanuel’s surprise, Milani mustered a fake smile and approached him,
Initiating a conversation. “Um… Emmanuel, how long have you been waiting? What brings you here?”

Although Emmanuel was a bit impatient, he did not want to be rude. He
responded indifferently, “I’ve been waiting for a while. I’m here to check my
account.”
