Chapter 29 Abilities.

“Day six just started.” Kianda says as she looks at the tand | smile as | eat my dinner, | am in no hurry to get

moving. | want most of the Palace lights out before | enter the Palace, | need to make sure | can avoid anyone

that is still awake as | make my way through the Palace and that means | have to make sure most of them are in

bed by the t| make my move.

Dad took Jasmine to Little River Pack in the morning, her Wolf couldn’t stay away from Dagda any longer and |

asked Dad to drive her there. Only a few people at Little River Pack know | am still in the competition and

Jasmine understood | wanted to keep that way. She wishedluck on completing the competition and on

finding all the rewards.

When it is close to midnight | head towards Mystic Moon Pack, Twilight is running at top speed and we get to the

border just after midnight. Patrol hasn’t changed their routine yet and that givesthe opportunity to get past

them without any trouble, lets see if Leander is patrolling around the Palace again.

| climb the stree | was sitting in last tand | see that the majority of the lights in the palace are out,

except for the lights on the Beta and Gamma floor. | am taking in my surroundings when | see from the corner of

my eye that Deimos has stepped onto his balcony and Twilight pushes forward to have a peek.

He is leaning on the balcony fence as he is looking towards Moon Stone Pack, | keep my eyes on the floor below

his floor because | don’t want him to feelstaring at him. It is hard to not let my eyes wander towards him, he

is a very handsmale to look at and | understand why females try to get his attention.

| let my mind wander back to the meeting we had here few weeks ago, | never felt really comfortable around

males or at these meetings and | had not been looking forward to this meeting. In hind sight it changed a lot of

things for me, but it also taughtthat not every male givesthe creeps and Deimos is one of those males.

Walking around the meeting that first day I didn’t think | would ever consider a male to be able to behave

normal, most males | have met have a outspoken opinion about how a female should behave or that they

shouldn't be allowed to have a High-ranking position within a Pack

Deimos and his friends showedthat there are males around that value females, that believe everyone

deserves to get what is their birth right and | know each of them will uphold the Law. The more t| spent with

Deimos at that meeting the more | realized that he is the kind of male that will cherish his Mate.

| hope my Mate will be like Deimos, a male that will respect who and what I am and who will never belittlefor

being a female. Movement to my left pulls my thoughts away from the meeting and back to the present, | see

Leander walking towards the Palace but instead of patrolling the Palace he walks straight in. through the

backdoor.

“Looks like Leander isn’t on patrol tonight.“Twilight says to me, but within seconds more and more lights turn on

in the Palace and | grumble softly as | see Leander walking back out with Eryx and Deimos. As they move

towards| keep my head towards the Palace and slowly close my eyes to concentrate on their

conversation.

“I have no idea if it was a Rogue or someone here to find their reward, but he is convinced he saw a Wolf cross

our south border.” Leander says. “It happened about twenty minutes ago, but we haven't been able to pick up a

scent.” | hold my breath as they walk past the free | am in and once | am certain they are far enough away |

climb down from the tree.

“Looks like someone else might have figured out their hint.“Twilight says as we make our way over to the statue

of the one legged King, | look up and down the statue | walk around it. | spot the reward in the opening of his

right arm and it is quite easy to take it from its hiding place.

| quietly make my way into the Palace through the backiloor and | jump into the small corridor as | hear footsteps

approaching the backdoor. “Make sure they keep an eye out for the intruder, they can’t interfere if it is a

competitor. We will discuss patrol changes in the morning.” | hear Eryx say before the backdoor closes and their

footsteps start to fade away.

| slowly make my way up to the first floor of the Royal Family’s wing, | need to make sure they have enough time

to get back to bed and hopefully they will fall asleep real fast. Almost an hour has passed when | finally step out

of the corridor and as | scan the wall for the painting | decide that Ammon will be my first personal quest.

Thank the Goddess | know my history or | might have been standing out here to long, there are two paintings of

a female on the wall and one of their stories | am very familiar with. | approach the correct painting and | already

see the sachet with the reward hanging from the side, | take it down with a smile on my face.

After | place it in my backpack | get back in the corridor and | slowly make my way up to the floor that belongs to

the King and his family, Twilight and | decided to start with Ammon because if he wantshis baby Sister he

needs to know what he is getting himself into. Slater tried to warn him, but | doubt Animon took is seriously.

| step into the first room to my right after | get out of the corridor and | make my way over to the balcony, |

believe it will be easier to get into his room by using the balcony. Lets just hope he doesn’t lock the damn- thing

at night or | will have to use the door to his room instead.

| am grateful the balconies are the sall around the Palace and luckily Twilight and | took our ttonight to

study them. We will be able to jump from balcony to balcony and once we have reached Ammon’s room we will

have to get into his room without making a sound, not sure if it will be as easy as it sounds in my head right now.

| take a moment to calm down once | am on the balcony that is connected to Ammon’s room and | look at the

furniture they have placed outside, | can already imagine Asha out here on a lounge chair with a book. Maybe |

should take her up on her offer and visit the Palace before | start traveling in search of my Mate.

Twilight pushes forward as | lean towards the balcony door and we both chuckle when we hear someone snore, it

sounds as if someone is trying to take a tree down. | try the handle carefully and to my surprise it is unlocked,

making my entry a lot easier.

| let my eyes adjust for a second after | have closed the door behindand | smile when | see Ammon and Asha

curled around one another, not that it looks comfortable to me, keep a close eye on them as | walk around the

bed to Ammon’s side and | pump my st into the air as | see what | cfor, the necklace Asha gave to him on

his birthday.

Apparently Ammon doesn’t like to wear it when he goes to sleep and it makes this a lot easier forto pull off. |

take the necklace from his night stand and for a moment | consider leaving a note, but | decide against it. | wish |

could be here when he wakes up and inds his necklace missing, | would like to witness his response to it.

I leave the room

in the sway | entered and once in safely back in the corridor | softly laugh. Luckily it is still dark when | walk

out of the Palace, but | nearly have a heart attack when | pass sbushes on my way to the border. Against a

tree to my left | see Leder sitting, but he is sound asleep and I chuckle
