Mariana’s clouded pupils contracted sharply. Ulrich could make such a promise because he had

healing is ten times yours! That scratch wouldn’t have meant a thing to him!”
In my room, the wolf healer Xavier scoldedas he dressed my wound. He clearly thought it was foolish. to
shield Henry instead of letting him protect me.
| frowned. “You've forgotten what kind of condition he’s in right now?”
That shut him up. Understanding dawned, but he couldn't help grumbling again.

she care about looks?” He suddenly swung toward me, his eyes alight with gossip. “Con, tell this shallow

The room went quiet.
