“Something’s wrong-something’s suppressing my power!” Callen roared in my consciousness.

A strange heat surged through my body, making my muscles tremble. | clenched my teeth, barely
holding back a groan.
I spat out the blood rising in my throat and grabbed Perry’s arm. My voice was low. “I think they got
to me.”
I had been one of the few standing close to those wolf prisoners when they all committed suicide.
Perry’s face changed. “Alpha, you mean...”
Just then, his comm buzzed. He answered it, and the voice on the other end was flustered.

“Perry, something’s wrong! Four or five of our wolves are infected. Those interceptors-they were
carriers!”
“What-what kind of virus spreads this fast and shows symptoms immediately?” Perry said in disbelief.
“No idea,” | growled, then coughed up more blood. “But it has to be the southern bastards again.”
| was still conscious enough to send a transmission to my assistant back in Shadowmoon Pack. | explained the
situation and ordered them to dispatch wolf doctors immediately.
Thankfully, the skirmish had taken place in a ghost town. If it had been a populated area, there'd be no way to
contain the spread.
| also told Perry to isolate the infected wolves and send them to the virus lab. After Aubrey and Dr. Fray cracked
the T-Flu, they and the other wolf doctors developed an antibody injection. Supposedly, it could resist thirty-six
types of viruses. If administered within two hours of infection, there was a one percent survival rate...
| didn’t think it would be effective against this, but at least it might slow the spread.
After finishing all this, | couldn’t hold on anymore. Sweat dripped from my forehead like rain.
“Take us back... virus lab... there's still tto try the antibodies...”
Perry barked the order, and the pilot turned the aircraft around. | opened my mouth again but couldn't get a
sound out.
That's when my comm buzzed again.
1 answered on instinct.
A sharp, high-pitched voice cthrough.
“Alpha Henry... I've heard so much about you...”
A wave of dread slammed into me. | bit the inside of my check hard to stay sharp.
The man on the other end spoke slowly, smugly.
“You've never inct me, but thanks to you, I lost everything. If it weren't for you, the T-Flu would've spread

His tone turned cold. A low chuckle followed.
“Cnow, little omega. Tell Alpha Henry who you are.”
There was no response.
But something shifted. Something told me.
